If using this procedure to diagnosis the vehicle's Supplemental Restraint Systems (SRS), disarm the RCM, which will prevent all airbags and pretensioners from deploying. Re-arm the RCM after all of the vehicle's SRS components are re-installed.

Remove

  1. Remove the driver seat outboard sideshield. See Side Shield - Outboard - Driver Seat (Remove and Replace).

    Note
    No need to remove the 8 way and lumbar switch assembly from the outboard sideshield.
  2. Disconnect the LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect) (Modify).
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the pretensioner.
  4. Remove and discard the bolt that attaches the lap pretensioner to the seat track.

  5. Remove the lap pretensioner from the seat track.
