Center Console (Model Y Standard) (Remove and Install)

Torque Specifications

Remove

  1. Remove the center console rear end panel. See Air Vent Cover - Rear - Center Console (Model Y Standard) (Remove and Install).
  2. Remove the rear bolts (x2) that attach the center console to the vehicle.

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  3. Remove the center console LH and RH front side panels. See Side Panel - Center Console - Front - RH (Model Y Standard) (Remove and Install).
  4. Remove the LH and RH side bolts (x4) that attach the center console to the vehicle.

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
  5. Disconnect the LV battery power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect) (Modify).
  6. Disconnect the center console connector and release the connector clip.
  7. With an assistant, remove the center console from the vehicle as follows:
    1. Make sure both front seats are fully rearward.
    2. Tilt the rear of the center console upwards.
    3. Pull the center console towards the rear of the vehicle.
    4. Tilt the front of the center console upwards.
    5. Remove the center console through the passenger front door.

Install

  1. With an assistant, install the center console into the vehicle as follows:
    1. Tilt the front of the center console downwards.
    2. Slide the center console towards the front of the vehicle.
    3. Tilt the rear of the center console downwards until it is in place.
  2. Secure the connector clip and connect the center console connector.
  3. Connect the LV battery power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect) (Modify).
  4. Install the LH and RH side bolts (x4) that attach the center console to the vehicle.
    7 Nm (5.2 lbs-ft)

  5. Install the center console LH and RH front side panels. See Side Panel - Center Console - Front - RH (Model Y Standard) (Remove and Install).
  6. Install the rear bolts (x2) that attach the center console to the vehicle.
    7 Nm (5.2 lbs-ft)
