Remove

Remove the LH rear door closeout panel
assembly. See Window Regulator Closeout - Rear Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
NoteIt is not necessary to remove the LH rear door pressure sensor, window motor and the window regulator from the door closeout panel assembly.

Disconnect the LH rear door electrical harness from the LH rear door latch
connector.

Remove the bolts (x3) that attach the LH rear door latch to the rear of the LH rear
door.
NoteUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T30 socket

Press the latch cable grommet in through the door, and move the cable in through the
opening while simultaneously removing the latch from the door.
Install

Feed the latch cable through the opening, and then install the grommet.
CAUTIONMake sure the door harness is routed on top of the door latch and is not pinched between the door latch and door assembly. RH door latches are especially susceptible to pinching; pay extra attention when servicing the RH door.

Install the bolts (x3) that attach the LH rear door latch to the rear of the LH rear
door.

Connect the LH rear door electrical harness to the LH rear door latch
connector.
- Install the LH rear door closeout panel assembly. See Window Regulator Closeout - Rear Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Locally connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox (Connect and Disconnect).
- In Toolbox 3.0, click the Actions tab, type "Self Test" into the search field, click TEST-SELF_VCLEFT_REAR-L_DOORvia Toolbox:(link), click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
- Exit Service Mode or disconnect the laptop if applicable (see 0005 - Service Modes).
