Raise and support vehicle
NoteEnsure vehicle is not charging, Remove charging cable if it's plugged in
- Open LH front door
- Lower LH front window
- Open hood

Remove rear apron
Note16x trim clips, 3x datums, 2x clips
-
Remove HEPA filter assembly
Note2x bolts, 10mm, 10 Nm, Pivot rear edge up past brake reservoir then lift up to clear frunk assembly

Remove frunk access panel
Note3x clips, 3x tabs, 1x connector
-
Remove bolts securing frunk to vehicle
Note4x bolts, 10mm, 5 Nm
-
Remove frunk from vehicle
Note4x clips, 3x tabs, 2x trim clips, Replace any clips if broken or missing

Power off vehicle from center display
NoteVia Controls > Safety > Power off, Select "Power Off" button at warning dialogue box

Disconnect LV battery and first responder loop
Note2x connectors, Release green locking tab, Press black tab then pull black connector lock outwards to release connection, Release red lock tab on FRL, Allow 2 minutes for all electrical circuits to fully discharge
- Place absorbent material underneath brake lines and brake fluid reservoir to catch any fluid lost
- Clean area around brake fluid reservoir and remove brake reservoir cap

Remove brake fluid from brake reservoir
NoteInstall absorbent cloth or rag underneath brake fluid reservoir

Raise vehicle fully and lower lift onto locks
NoteSet vehicle to comfortable working height, Make sure there's an audible click of locks on both sides before lowering, Otherwise vehicle may tilt to side

Remove front aero shield
Note2x nuts, 15mm, 8 Nm
-
Remove RCU lower fastener
Note1x bolt, 10mm, 10 Nm
-
Lower vehicle until tires are touching ground
NoteRaise lift off locks, Then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered

Remove retaining clips securing AC compressor HV harness to shock tower support brace
Note5x retaining clips, Pull upward on clip to assist with removal, Do not pull on HV cable, Discard damaged clips

Remove bolts securing shock tower brace to shock tower
Note4x bolts, 15mm, 55 Nm, 2x bolts, 62 Nm, See image for torque location

Support the LH side of the shock tower brace
Note1x airbag, Use assistance if needed

Release brake fluid reservoir return line
Note1x locking clip, depress the two sides and pull upwards, there will be minimal excess brake fluid that will be released

Release master cylinder secondary pipe from RCU
Note1x nut, 12mm, 16 Nm
-
Remove master cylinder primary pine from RCU
Note1x nut, 12mm, 16 Nm
-
Remove brake lines to front calipers
Note2x nuts, 12mm, 16 Nm
-
Disconnect RCU ecu
Note1x locking tab, 1x lever, lift locking tab up and lever down

Remove upper fastener from RCU
Note1x bolt, 10mm, 10 Nm
-
Remove RCU
Note2x guide datums
-
Install RCU
Note2x guide datums, hand start the upper 10mm to hold in position

Secure upper fastener to RCU
Note1x bolt, 10 mm, 10 Nm

Connect RCU ecu
NoteFully mount connector and lift lever up to secure, 1x locking tab

Install master cylinder pipe to RCU
Note1x nut, 12mm, 16 Nm
-
Install secondary cylinder pipe to RCU
Note1x nut, 12mm, 16 Nm
-
Install front caliper brake lines to RCU
Note2x nuts, 12mm, 16 Nm, Hand start first to prevent cross threading

Install brake fluid reservoir return line
Note1x locking tab, perform a push pull test to ensure it is fully engaged

Loosely Install bolts securing shock tower brace to shock tower
Note4x bolts, 15mm, 55 Nm, 2x bolts, 62 Nm, See image for torque location

Torque bolts securing shock tower brace to shock tower
Note4x bolts, 15mm, 55 Nm, 2x bolts, 62 Nm, See image for torque location

Connect first responder loop and LV battery
Note2x connectors, Secure FRL first, Seat LV battery connection and push black connector lock inwards to secure, Engage green locking tab when fully seated

Once firmware redeploy is complete, Verify on center display release notes are present

Note1x cap, Use tool to gently pull the center wheel cap to release the clips, Wheels may be equipped with different caps

Loosen LH front wheel nuts
Note5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm

Remove RH front wheel cap
Note1x cap, Use tool to gently pull the center wheel cap to release the clips, Wheels may be equipped with different caps

Loosen RH front wheel nuts
Note5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm

Remove LH rear wheel cap
Note1x cap, Use tool to gently pull center wheel cap to release clips, Wheels may be equipped with different caps

Remove RH rear wheel cap

Raise vehicle partially and lower lift onto locks
NoteSet vehicle to a comfortable working height, Make sure there's an audible click of the locks on both sides before lowering, otherwise vehicle may tilt to the side

Lower vehicle partially and set onto locks
NoteRaise lift off locks, Then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered, Set vehicle to comfortable working height

Run RCU Calibrate Pedal Travel Sensor
NoteSelect Chassis > Procedures > RCU Post Replacement > Pedal Travel Sensor, click Run, follow on screen instructions to press/release brake pedal, close once routine is succeeded,

Run RCU Calibrate Pressure Sensor
NoteSelect Chassis > Procedures > RCU Post Replacement > RCU Calibrate Pressure Sensor, click Run,
- Fill brake bleeder reservoir to full level

Top off brake fluid reservoir
NoteTop off brake fluid as needed
- Install pressure bleeder adapter onto reservoir

Setup brake bleeder
NoteConnect power supply to bleeder and turn on the power to set pressure to 30 psi, Attach the brake reservoir hose to the brake adapter at this time

Remove LH front caliper inner bleed valve cover then install fluid catcher

PLACEHOLDER, Run Manual Caliper Bleed
NoteSelect Chassis > Procedures > RCU Post Replacement >Manual Caliper Bleed
- Run ODIN routine

Remove fluid catcher and torque LH front caliper bleed valve
Note1x bleed valve, 11mm, 18.5 Nm, 1x cover, Install cover when torqued

Remove RH front caliper inner bleed valve cover then install fluid catcher
Note1x cover
- Run ODIN routine

Remove fluid catcher then torque RH front caliper bleed valve
Note1x bleed valve, 11mm, 18.5 Nm, 1x cover, Install cover when torqued
- Turn off and remove pressure brake bleeder kit from vehicle

Check brake fluid level
NoteTop off if necessary
- Install service brake reservoir cap
- Remove absorbent material from underneath brake booster assembly and reservoir area

Bleed Internal Circuits
NoteSelect Chassis > Procedures > RCU Post Replacement > Bleed Internal Circuit-s

Perform RCU Corner Stiffness Test
NoteSelect Chassis > Procedures > RCU Post Replacement > Corner Stiffness Test, click Run, follow on screen instructions

Perform RCU Valve Test
NoteSelect Chassis > Procedures > RCU Post Replacement > Valve Test, click Run, follow on screen instructions

Disconnect Toolbox 3 from vehicle and remove laptop and Diagnostics Adapter Ethernet Harness
NoteIf RJ45 ethernet diagnostic connector present media converter box not required disconnect directly from laptop using an RJ45 Ethernet cable or from OBDII connection
- Run ODIN routine PROC_ICE_X_EXIT-SERVICE-MODEvia Toolbox: (link)
- Pump brake pedal a few times to ensure brake pedal feels normal

Install LH front wheel
Note5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm, Start lug nuts by hand before using power tool

Install LH rear wheel
Note5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm, Start lug nuts by hand before using power tool

Install RH front wheel
Note5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm, Start lug nuts by hand before using power tool

Install RH rear wheel
Note5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm, Start lug nuts by hand before using power tool

Lower vehicle until tires are touching ground
NoteRaise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered

Torque LH front wheel nuts
Note5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm

Install LH front wheel cap
Note1x cap, Align valve stem with wheel cap cavity, Wheels may be equipped with different caps

Torque RH front wheel nuts
Note5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm

Install RH front wheel cap
Note1x cap, Align valve stem with wheel cap cavity, Wheels may be equipped with different caps

Torque LH rear wheel nuts
Note5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm

Install LH rear wheel cap
Note1x cap, Align valve stem with wheel cap cavity, Wheels may be equipped with different caps

Torque RH rear wheel nuts
Note5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm

Install RH rear wheel cap
Note1x cap, Align valve stem with wheel cap cavity, Wheels may be equipped with different caps

Install RCU lower fastener
Note1x bolt, 10mm, 10 Nm

Install front aero shield onto vehicle
Note7x bolts, 10mm, 5 Nm, Apply Loctite 222 onto front aero shield bolts and install fasteners to front aero shield

Lower vehicle fully
NoteRaise lift off locks, Then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered

Install frunk to vehicle
Note4x clips, 3x tabs, 2x trim clips, Replace any clips if broken or missing

Install bolts securing frunk to vehicle
Note4x bolts, 10mm, 5 Nm
-
Install frunk access panel
Note3x clips, 3x tabs, 1x connector
-
Install HEPA filter assembly
Note2x bolts, 10mm, 10 Nm, Pivot forward edge down past frunk assembly, Then carefully move rear edge past brake reservoir and into position, Gently press on RH side of filter to seat seal onto duct
-
Install rear apron
Note16x trim clips, 3x locator pins, 2x clips, Replace any missing or damaged clips, Ensure pyrotechnic hood actuators are aligned with openings in apron
- Close hood
- Raise LH front window
- Close LH front door

Remove vehicle from lift
NoteLower rack arms fully and remove from under vehicle

Perform a road test
NoteEnsure proper brake pedal feel and performance Add correction code 00040100 as needed
