Jumper Harness - Trailer Hitch (Remove and Replace)

Torque Specifications

 Reuse

Remove

  1. Remove the rear fascia assembly. See Assembly - Fascia and Diffuser - Rear (Remove and Install) or, for Mobile Service, see Fascia Assembly - Rear - Partially Remove (Mobile Only) (Remove and Install).
  2. Disconnect the trailer hitch harness connector.
  3. Remove the bolts (x3) that attach the trailer hitch plug to the hitch assembly.
    Note
    Route the harness through the bracket.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 bit
    • Wiha Torque Screwdriver 0.8-5 Nm screwdriver (installation only)
  4. Disconnect the trailer hitch controller connectors (x2).
    Note
    Pull the yellow tabs first.
  5. Remove the clips (x4) to remove the trailer hitch jumper harness from the hitch assembly.

Install

  1. Install the clips (x4) to attach the trailer hitch jumper harness to the hitch assembly.
  2. Connect the trailer hitch controller connectors (x2).
  3. Install the bolts (x3) that attach the trailer hitch plug to the hitch assembly.
    2.5 Nm (1.8 lbs-ft)
    Note
    Route the harness through the bracket.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 bit
    • Wiha Torque Screwdriver 0.8-5 Nm screwdriver (installation only)
  4. Connect the trailer hitch harness connector.
  5. Install the rear fascia assembly. See Assembly - Fascia and Diffuser - Rear (Remove and Install) or, for Mobile Service, see Fascia Assembly - Rear - Partially Remove (Mobile Only) (Remove and Install).
