Shell - Seat Back - 1st Row (Remove and Replace)

Seat base edges are sharp and can cause personal injury. Wear cut resistant gloves when removing the seat from the vehicle, and while performing procedures that involve work on or near the seat base.

Remove

  1. Remove the driver headrest from the seat. See FIRST ROW - HEADREST (Remove and Replace).
  2. Move the LH front seat to most forward and upward position.
  3. Release the strap clips (x2) from the lower section of the driver seat back shell.
  4. Release the clips (x6) that attach the driver seatback shell to the driver seat, and then remove the seatback shell from the seat.

    Note
    Pull the shell away from the top of the seat, when the side clips are free, pull the bottom and carefully roll the bottom tabs out of the slots.

Install

  1. Position the driver seatback shell onto the seatback, and then install the clips (x6) that attach the driver seatback shell to the driver seat.

    Note
    Install the lower clips first, and then rotate the shell up into position. Apply light pressure to ensure the seat back shell is fully seated. The headrest posts will engage seat back when installed.
  2. Hook the strap clips (x2) onto the driver seatback shell assembly.

    Ensure the straps are tight for proper fit and installation.
  3. Install the driver headrest to the seat. See FIRST ROW - HEADREST (Remove and Replace).
  4. Move the LH front seat to original position.
