Accelerator Pedal (Remove and Replace)

Torque Specifications

 Reuse

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Disconnect the LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect) (Modify).
  3. Remove the LH footwell hush panel. See Hush Panel - Footwell - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  4. For NA vehicles only: Remove the knee airbag assembly. See Knee Airbag - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the LH footwell duct. See Footwell Duct - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  6. Remove the bolt that attaches the accelerator pedal to the vehicle, disconnect the electrical connector, and then slide the accelerator pedal downwards to remove it from the vehicle.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T30 bit
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver

Replace

  1. Connect the accelerator pedal electrical connector, and install the bolt that attaches the accelerator pedal to the vehicle.
    7 Nm (5.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T30 bit
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
  2. Install the LH footwell duct. See Footwell Duct - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  3. For NA vehicles only: Install the knee airbag assembly. See Knee Airbag - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Install the LH footwell hush panel. See Hush Panel - Footwell - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  5. Connect the LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect) (Modify).
  6. Locally connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox (Connect and Disconnect).
  7. In Toolbox, perform the following steps.
    1. Click the Actions tab, type "accel-pedal" into the search field, click TEST-SELF_DI_X_ACCEL-PEDALvia Toolbox:(link), click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
    2. Click the Actions tab, type "ping-tp" into the search field, click PING-TP_PMRvia Toolbox:(link), click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  8. Disconnect the laptop.
  9. Exit Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  10. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
