Reuse

Remove

  1. Remove the driver seat back shell. See Shell - Seat Back - 1st Row (Remove and Replace).
  2. Disconnect the LV battery power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  3. Remove the upper and lower flaps covering the outboard side of the seat back frame.

    Note
    Pull the flaps out of the metal retaining tabs to release them.
  4. Remove the upper and lower flaps covering the inboard side of the seat back frame.

  5. Release the driver seat back trim retainers (x7) from the driver seat back frame and then untie the locking flaps that cover the upper part of the seat back frame.
  6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the driver seat back blower.
  7. Pull the seat upholstery away from the side air bag to gain access to the air bag electrical connector.
  8. Press and hold the black tabs on both sides and pull them down to disconnect the airbag electrical connector.
  9. Pull the seat upholstery away from the FSAB to gain access to the air bag electrical connector.
  10. Press and hold the black tabs on both sides and pull them down to disconnect the seat FSAB electrical connector.
  11. Remove part of the seat harness from the seat back frame.
  12. Remove the bolt that attaches the power lumbar to the seat back frame.

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
    • 2 in extension
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
  13. Disconnect the recliner motor connector.
  14. Disconnect the lumbar valve pack and ECU connector.
  15. Disconnect the lumbar pump connector.
  16. Release the clips (x2) that attach the lumbar pump to seat frame.

    Note
    Squeeze the three lobes of the retaining clips and push towards the pump to release.
  17. Push the lower portion of power lumbar assembly towards the foam to release it from the seat back frame.
  18. Press the bottom of the lumbar support assembly in, and at the same time, slide the lumbar support assembly up. Pivot the bottom of the lumbar support assembly out from the frame, and pull the lumbar support assembly down and out of the frame.

Install

  1. Slide the lumbar assembly posts into the top of the seat back frame and push the assembly in toward the foam. Then slide the assembly down towards the bottom of the seat frame and clip the bottom of the assembly to the seat frame.
  2. Install the clips (x2) that attach the lumbar pump to seat frame.
  3. Connect the lumbar pump connector.
  4. Connect the lumbar valve pack and ECU connector.
  5. Connect the recliner motor connector.
  6. Install the bolt that attaches the power lumbar to the seat back frame.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)

    • 10 mm socket
    • 2 in extension
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
  7. Install part of the seat harness to the seat back frame.
  8. Connect the electrical connector to the driver seat back blower.
  9. Connect the driver seat side air bag electrical connector.
  10. Connect the driver seat FSAB electrical connector.
  11. Install the lower and upper flaps covering the inboard side of the seat back frame.

    Pull the flaps over the metal retaining tabs to secure them.
  12. Install the lower and upper flaps covering the outboard corner of the seat back frame.

  13. Tie the locking flaps that cover the upper part of the seat back frame and then install the driver seat back trim retainers (x7) to the driver seat back frame.
  14. Connect the LV battery power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  15. Install the driver seat back shell. See Shell - Seat Back - 1st Row (Remove and Replace).
