Warning
This procedure is a DRAFT.
Although it has been validated, Warnings and Cautions might be missing. Follow safety
requirements and use extreme caution when working on or near High Voltage systems and
components.
- 2026-02-19: Released new procedure.
- Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2-Post Lift.
-
Open LH front door
-
Lower LH front window
- Run ODIN routine PROC_ICE_X_ENTER-SERVICE-MODEvia Toolbox:(link)
- Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway (Unlock).
-
Access thermal system routines via UI
NoteSelect Service mode > Thermal
-
Perform "Start Thermal Fill/Drain (Coolant Only)" through Service UI
NoteSelect Thermal > Coolant System > Coolant Fill/Drain, click Run, close once routine is completed, Thermal Fill Drain routine has a 5 hour time limit, After 5 hours routine must be performed again
- Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect) (Modify).
- Remove the front aero shield. See Aero Shield - Front (Remove and Replace).
-
Remove clips secure LH wheel liner to front fascia and valance
Note3x push clips
-
Remove clips secure RH wheel liner to front fascia and valance
Note3x push clips
-
Remove both side bolts securing valance to fascia
Note2x bolts, T40, 2.5Nm
-
Secure RH front wheel liner aside
Note1x bungee strap, Secure to subframe
-
Position coolant drain container underneath RH front of HV battery
-
Attach hose extension to coolant drain hose for extra length
-
Attach the powertrain (PT) flush fitting
adapter to coolant cart pressure hose
-
Disconnect PT return hose
Note1x spring clip, Plug coolant connections as needed, Loss of coolant greater than 1L requires coolant vacuum fill
-
Attach PT drain fitting adapter to male PT return hose
-
Disconnect PT supply hose
Note1x spring clip, Plug coolant connections as needed, Loss of coolant greater than 1L requires coolant vacuum fill
-
Attach PT flush fitting adapter to female side of PT supply hose
Note1x spring clip, Perform push-pull test to verify adapter is fully engaged
-
Attach PT drain fitting adapter to coolant pressure tester cart
NoteThe regulator valve is pre-set to 20 psi, When valve is set to horizontal position it is fully closed, Verify valve is in closed position
-
Attach compressed air line to coolant pressure tester
NoteVerify valve is in closed position
-
Open valve on PT drain fitting adapter
NoteWhen valve is in the vertical position it is fully open
-
Slowly open valve on pressure regulator and allow coolant to drain out of PT return hose
NoteOpen valve very slowly, If opened too quickly, pressure relief valve on superbottle cap may open, Also superbottle cap may make humming noise, If so, pressure is too high and should be lowered by adjusting the valve
-
Close valve on pressure regulator
NoteTurn valve knob horizontal when coolant is no longer visibly draining
-
Remove PT flush fitting adapter from female side of PT supply hose
Note1x spring clip
-
Remove plugs then connect PT supply hose
Note1x clips, 1x plugs, Perform push-pull-push test to make sure hose is fully engaged. Loss of coolant greater than 1L requires coolant vacuum fill
-
Disconnect PT flush fitting adapter from female side of PT return tube
Note1x spring clip
-
Remove PT drain fitting adapter from male side of PT return hose
Note1x spring clip, Plug the PT return hose
-
Remove plugs then connect PT return tube
NotePerform a push-pull-push test to make sure the hose is fully seated. Do not wiggle the hose at the connection.
-
Remove PT drain fitting adapter from cart drain hose
-
Remove coolant drain container from underneath vehicle
-
Release RH front wheel liner
Note1x bungee strap, Remove bungee strap as needed
-
Install bolt securing RH front wheel liner to skid plate
Note1x bolt, 10mm, 5 Nm
-
Install clip securing RH wheel liner to body
Note1x push clip
- Install the front aero shield. See Aero Shield - Front (Remove and Replace).
- Perform a coolant vacuum refill. See Cooling System - Vacuum Refill (Test/Adjust).
- Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect) (Modify).
-
Access thermal system routines via UI
NoteSelect Service mode > Thermal
- Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway (Unlock).

On the touchscreen, tap the Service Mode
"wrench" (at the bottom of the touchscreen UI), and then perform the following routines:
- Tap , and allow the routine to complete.
- Tap , and allow the routine to complete.
-
Inspect coolant level and top off as necessary
NoteEnsure that fluid level is at Max line, Vacuum fill required if greater than 1L lost during repair
-
Install coolant bottle cap
- Run ODIN routine PROC_ICE_X_EXIT-SERVICE-MODEvia Toolbox:(link)
-
Install HEPA filter assembly
Note2x bolts, 10mm, 10 Nm, Pivot forward edge down past frunk assembly, Then carefully move rear edge past brake reservoir and into position, Gently press on RH side of filter to seat seal onto duct
-
Install rear apron
Note16x trim clips, 3x locator pins, 2x clips, Replace any missing or damaged clips, Ensure pyrotechnic hood actuators are aligned with openings in apron
