If this rework is performed, add Correction Code 10100504407 for the LH side and/or 10100504507 for the RH side.
Note
This rework is performed when the roof rail cantail trim has already been removed from the vehicle. See Trim - Cantrail - Roof Rail - LH (Remove and Install) for cantrail trim remove and install procedure.

Procedure

  1. Use an 8mm drill bit to enlarge the LH roof rail cantrail trim front mounting hole.
    CAUTION
    Make sure the drill bit does not go more than 1 inch into the panel.
    Note
    Verify the size with taper step gauge.
  2. Clean the reworked LH roof rail cantrail trim mounting hole.
    Note
    Remove any burrs caused by drilling, and then wipe the inside and outside with IPA to clean surface of contaminate. Allow 1 minute to dry.
  3. Apply masking tape around the reworked LH roof rail cantrail trim mounting hole.
    Note
    Make sure to cover any stainless steel and glass surfaces to prevent paint overspray.
  4. Apply SEM ez coat to the LH roof rail cantrail trim rework location.
    Note
    Shake the can for 1 minute before application.
    Note
    Apply 2 coats of SEM ez coat. Allow ez coat to dry for 5-10 minutes between coats.
    Note
    Allow 30 minutes of dry time after the second coat.
  5. Remove the masking tape.
