Breather Housing - Rear Drive Unit (Remove and Install)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Open the tonneau cover.
  3. Open the tailgate.
  4. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Install).
  5. Disconnect MV power. See Mid-Voltage Power (Disconnect and Connect) (Modify).
  6. Remove the bed floor assembly. See Bed Floor Assembly (Remove and Install).
  7. Release the clip that attaches the RDU breather tube to the RDU casing, and then disconnect the breather tube.

    Note
    Press the tabs on the breather tube inward, and then pull the breather tube upward to disconnect.
  8. Remove the RDU breather housing.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)

    • 24 mm socket

Install

  1. Install the RDU breather housing.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)

    • 24 mm socket
  2. Connect the RDU breather tube, and then install the clip that attaches the breather tube to the RDU casing.

    Note
    Make sure the tabs are fully engaged.
  3. Install the bed floor assembly. See Bed Floor Assembly (Remove and Install).
  4. Reconnect MV power. See Mid-Voltage Power (Disconnect and Connect) (Modify).
  5. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Install).
  6. Close the tailgate.
  7. Close the tonneau cover.
  8. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
