- 2025-05-08: Added brake pad burnishing step to be performed after rotor replacement.
Remove
- Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
- Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
- Open the powered frunk.
- Place the vehicle into Service Mode. See Service Mode.

On the vehicle touchscreen, enable Tow Mode.
NoteAllow the drive rails to completely turn on before enabling Tow Mode.
- Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Install).
- Disconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power (Modify).
- Remove the LH rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Release the locking tab, and then disconnect the EPB harness electrical connector from the LH rear brake caliper.

Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH rear brake caliper to the vehicle, and then use an S-hook to hang the caliper on the body.150 Nm (110.6 lbs-ft)CAUTIONRoute the caliper hose so that it does not get caught on stabilizer bar assembly.TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 21 mm socket
- S-hook

Remove the LH rear brake rotor.
NoteAfter the caliper is released, the rotor is also loose.
Install
- Position the LH rear brake rotor onto the vehicle.

Position the LH rear brake caliper to the knuckle, and install the bolts (x2) that attach the caliper to the knuckle.150 Nm (110.6 lbs-ft)TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 21 mm socket
- Connect the EPB harness connector to the LH rear brake caliper, and then engage the connector lock.
- Install the LH rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Reconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power (Modify).
- Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Install).
- Exit Tow Mode.
- Exit Service mode. See Service Mode.
- Remove the vehicle from the lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.

Burnish the brakes. See Brake Pads - Burnishing (Maintenance).
