Servicing MV components requires extra knowledge and care in order to avoid personal and/or vehicular harm. Install

  1. Position the MV battery into the vehicle, slide the battery rearwards into position, and then install the bolts (x2) that attach the battery to the vehicle.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  2. Reconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power.
  3. Install the frunk assembly. See Frunk Assembly (Remove and Install).
  4. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
  5. Unlock the vehicle Gateway. See Gateway (Unlock).
  6. Learn the MV battery: On the vehicle touchscreen, tap Service Mode > Low Voltage > Power Distribution > MV Battery (icon) > Learn New Battery.

  7. Park the vehicle where it can remain for 30 minutes.

    Fast charging is not permitted during MV battery health test. Slow charging is permitted.
  8. Run Battery Health Test: On the vehicle touchscreen, tap Mode UI > Low Voltage (tab) > Power Distribution > MV Battery (icon) > Run Battery Health Test, and then tap Run and allow the routine to complete.

    The Battery Health Test Required alert will clear after approximately 30 minutes.
  9. Exit Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  10. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
