Remove

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  2. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  3. Place the vehicle into Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  4. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
  5. Remove the frunk assembly. See Frunk Assembly (Remove and Install).
  6. Disconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power.
  7. Remove the front aeroshield. See Undertray - Front Aeroshield (Remove and Install).
  8. Place a coolant catcher below the RH front of the vehicle.
  9. Lower the vehicle until the tires are touching the ground.
  10. Remove the Megabeam. See Front Inner Panels - Megabeam (Remove and Install).
  11. Remove the coolant from the coolant bottle.

    Note
    Push the coolant removal hose inward around the internal baffle. The secondary baffle may inhibit hose insertion. Rotate or twist hose to assist in installation. Extract as much fluid as possible by adjusting the hose position.

    Pump the fluid into Mityvac evacuator.
  12. Remove coolant bottle.

    1x harness guide, 3x clips, 1x connector, 2x bolts, T25, 5 Nm, Slide rearwards to release fitting, Ensure o-ring does not remain in housing, Release locking tab.

Install

  1. Install coolant bottle.

    1x harness guide, 3x clips, 1x connector, 2x bolts, T25, 5 Nm, Lubricate o-ring with fresh coolant, Slide forward until o-ring is fully seated, Engage locking tab.
  2. Install the Megabeam. See Front Inner Panels - Megabeam (Remove and Install).
  3. Remove the coolant bottle cap.
  4. Inspect coolant level and top off as necessary.

    Make sure the fluid level is at the Max line.
  5. Reconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power.
  6. On the vehicle touchscreen, navigate to Service mode > Thermal > Actions to access thermal system routines.
  7. Tap Stop Thermal Fill Drain, and allow the routine to complete.

    Make sure the routine is successful.
  8. Tap Start Coolant Air Purge.

    Note
    Touch time only. Wait until the coolant pumps stop running (audible noise). Routine Passed will appear, but pumps will run for 10 minutes. Starting another routine during this time will cause air purge routine to fail. Make sure the vehicle is not in "Drive". Routine is still running despite the completed message. Test will vary speeds from 3500-6500 RPM and actuate valves between SERIES and PARALLEL. Putting the vehicle into "Drive" will stop the routine. If speeds hover at 7000 RPM, this indicates the pumps are air locked, perform a vacuum fill. Continue to add coolant and purge until the coolant level reaches between the NOM and MAX Lines on the bottle.
  9. Install the front aeroshield. See Undertray - Front Aeroshield (Remove and Install).
  10. Lower the vehicle until the tires are touching the ground.
  11. Inspect the coolant level and top off as necessary.
  12. Install the coolant bottle cap.
  13. On the vehicle touchscreen, navigate to Thermal > Actions > Test Thermal Performance, tap Run, and allow the routine to complete.

    Note
    Close once routine is completed. If the thermal test fails follow Toolbox article 206000.
  14. Install the frunk assembly. See Frunk Assembly (Remove and Install).
  15. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
  16. Remove the vehicle from the lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  17. Exit Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  18. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
