Warning
Always make sure to properly secure the wheel, and that no one moves close to any moving parts when in use. Additionally, make sure your hair, jewlery, and clothing will not get caught by moving parts.

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including cut-resistant gloves and safety glasses when performing this procedure.

Warning
The machine must be operated by no more than one person at a time. Other persons must maintain a safe distance of at least three feet from equipment while in use.

Never use equipment that is defective or not working as expected based on the equipment operator’s manual.

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Raise and support vehicle.

    Set air suspension to "Jack Mode".
  3. Remove the LH front wheel cap. See Wheel Cover - Front - LH (Remove and Install).
  4. Loosen the LH front wheel lug nuts (x6).
    205 Nm (151.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 21 mm deep socket
  5. Raise the vehicle fully.

    Set to a comfortable working height, and then lower to locks.

    CAUTION
    Make sure the locks engage on both sides to prevent tilting.
  6. Remove the nuts (x6) that attach the wheel to the hub, and then remove the LH front wheel from the vehicle.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 21 mm deep socket
  7. Place the wheel and tire on the tire machine and secure it.

    x1 wheel clamp
  8. Remove the valve stem cap.
  9. Remove the valve stem core using a valve core removal tool.

    CAUTION
    Exercise caution as tire rapidly deflates.

    Note
    Wear safety glasses as Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
  10. Rotate the wheel and tire so that the upper roller is ~100 mm in front of the valve stem.

    Failure to properly position the valve stem can result in TPMS sensor damage.
  11. Break the upper bead.
  12. Remove the tire from the wheel.

    Make sure to position the TPMS sensor ahead of the tire machine arm.

Install

  1. Thoroughly lubricate both tire beads, and then position for installation.

    Make sure to position the TPMS sensor opposite the tire machine arm. Ensure that the wheel cover design side of tire is facing outwards.
  2. Install the tire to the wheel.

    Use caution to avoid damage to beads.

    Apply additional lubricant as required.
  3. Inflate the tire to seat the beads.

    Do not exceed the pressure indicated on the tire sidewall.

    Make sure the inside and outside beads are seated.
  4. Install the valve core stem using the valve core removal tool.

    CAUTION
    Hand tight only. Do not overtighten.
  5. Remove the wheel and tire from the tire changer.

  6. Install the tire and wheel assembly onto the balancer.

    x1 6-lug wheel flange

    Position the wheel onto the spindle shaft, and then secure the wheel using the flange.

    If 6-lug wheel flange is unavailable, use 216mm Blue Hunter centering cone adapter.
  7. Remove the wheel weights.
  8. Verify that the tire pressure is set.

    Refer to "Tire and Loading Information" label located on driver side B-pillar.

    Install the valve stem cap afterward.
  9. Input wheel dimensions into the balancer machine.

    Skip this step if the machine does not require manual input.
  10. Perform road force wheel balance.

    Follow machine instructions.

    Make sure load roller engages.
  11. Record road force wheel balance results.

    If road force is within limit, then skip to install wheel weights. If road force is outside limit, then proceed to force match.
  12. Perform tire and wheel force match.

    Measure runout, and then mark tire and rim for reference points. Use machine to determine points to match on tire and wheel.
  13. Remove the tire and wheel assembly from the balancer.

    Remove flange, and then remove the wheel from the spindle shaft.
  14. Install the tire and wheel assembly onto the tire machine.

    Position the wheel onto the wheel support, and then secure the wheel using the clamp.
  15. Remove the valve stem cap.

  16. Remove the valve stem core.

    Exercise caution as tire rapidly deflates. Wear appropriate PPE.
  17. Break the tire beads.

    Use lubrication around the tire and wheel. Break top and bottom bead.
  18. Remove the tire from the wheel.

    Make sure to position the TPMS sensor ahead of the tire machine arm.
  19. Install the tire onto the wheel matching previously marked points from the balancer.

    Rotate the tire to align with the previously marked reference points.
  20. Inflate the tire to seat the bead.

    Recommend assistance. Lift the tire while inflating. Do not exceed pressure indicated on the tire sidewall.
  21. Install the valve stem core.

  22. Remove the tire and wheel assembly from the tire machine.

    Remove the clamp, and then remove the wheel from the wheel support.
  23. Install the tire and wheel assembly onto the balancer.

    x1 6-lug wheel flange.

    Position the wheel onto the spindle shaft, and then secure the wheel using flange.
  24. Verify that the tire pressure is set.

  25. Input the wheel dimensions into the balancer machine.

  26. Perform the road force wheel balance.

  27. Install weights onto the wheel.

    Place weights on positions indicated by balancer.
  28. Perform check spin.

  29. Remove the tire and wheel assembly from the balancer.

    x1 6-lug wheel flange.

    Remove the flange, and then remove the wheel from the spindle shaft.
  30. Install the wheel onto the hub.
  31. Hand start the lug nuts (x6) beginning with the bottom lug nut first.
  32. Partially tighten the lug nuts (x6) of the wheel to the initial torque in a criss-cross star pattern.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 21 mm deep socket
  33. Lower the vehicle until the tires are touching the ground.

    Raise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered.
  34. Tighten the lug nuts (x6) of the wheel in a criss-cross star pattern.
    205 Nm (151.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 21 mm deep socket
  35. Install the LH front wheel cap. See Wheel Cover - Front - LH (Remove and Install).
  36. Remove the vehicle from the lift.

    Lower rack arms fully and remove them from under vehicle.

    Remove the air suspension from "Jack Mode".
  37. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
