Fan - Camera - Windshield (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Remove the rear view mirror. See Rearview Mirror - Rear View Miror (Remove and Install).
  3. Release the clips (x4) that attach the rear view mirror beauty cover to the vehicle.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connectors (x3) and release the harness clip, and then remove the rear view mirror beauty cover from the vehicle.

    Note
    Release the connector lock where applicable.
  5. Remove the screws (x3) that attach the forward facing camera fan to the vehicle, and then disconnect the electrical connector to remove the assembly from the vehicle.
    0.12 Nm (1 lbs-in)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T6 bit

Install

  1. Install the noise reducing shims (x3) onto the forward facing camera fan mounting holes.

    Note
    If the original fan had shims installed, then install the shims onto the replacement fan. If original fan did not have shims installed, then skip this step.
  2. Position the forward facing camera fan into the vehicle, connect the electrical connector, and then install the screws (x3) that attach the fan to the vehicle.
    0.12 Nm (1 lbs-in)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T6 bit
  3. Position the rear view mirror beauty cover into the vehicle, and then connect the electrical connectors (x3) and secure the harness clip.

    Note
    Engage the connector lock where applicable.
  4. Secure the clips (x4) that attach the rear view mirror beauty cover to the vehicle.

    Replace any missing or damaged clips.
  5. Install the rear view mirror. See Rearview Mirror - Rear View Miror (Remove and Install).
  6. Place the vehicle into Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  7. On the vehicle touchscreen, navigate to Service Mode > Software Reinstall, and then tap Reinstall to reinstall the vehicle software.

    Note
    Reinstall will begin immediately. Once the firmware redeploy is complete, verify release notes are present via UI.
  8. Exit Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  9. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
