Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle on a 2 post lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  3. Remove the wheel wheel cover. See Wheel Cover - Front - LH (Remove and Install) or Cover - Wheel (Long Range) (Remove and Install).
  4. Loosen the wheel lug nuts (x6).
    205 Nm (151.2 lbs-ft)

  5. Raise the vehicle to a comfortable working height.

    Note
    Set to a comfortable working height, and then lower to locks.

    CAUTION
    Make sure the locks engage on both sides to prevent tilting.
  6. Use the wheel lifting tool to remove the wheel from the vehicle.
    1. Position the lifting tool onto the wheel.
    2. Pivot the top lock bar onto the tire to secure the tire to the lifting tool.
    3. Remove the nuts (x6) that attach the wheel to the hub.

    4. Remove the wheel assembly from the vehicle, and then lower the wheel to the ground.

Install

  1. Use the lifting tool to raise the wheel assembly to installation height.
  2. Position the wheel into the vehicle, and then hand start the lug nuts (x6) beginning with the bottom lug nut first. Hand ighten the lug nuts (x6) of the wheel to the initial torque in a criss-cross star pattern.

  3. Remove the wheel lifting tool from the wheel assembly.

    Note
    Fully lower the lifting tool once it has been removed from the wheel assembly.
  4. Lower the vehicle until the tires are touching the ground.

    Note
    Raise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered.
  5. Tighten the lug nuts (x6) of the wheel in a criss-cross star pattern.

  6. Install the wheel cap. See Wheel Cover - Front - LH (Remove and Install) or Cover - Wheel (Long Range) (Remove and Install).
  7. Remove the vehicle from the lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  8. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
