Front Brake Rotors - Calipers and Pads - Service Front Brake Caliper Boot Kit (Remove and Install)

Open LH front door
NotePush LH B-pillar door trigger to release

Lower LH front window
-
Raise and support vehicle
NoteSet air suspension to "Jack Mode"

Open powered front trunk
NoteVia exterior switch or UI

Remove rear underhood apron
Note9x clips
-
Place shop rags underneath brake fluid reservoir
-
Clean area around brake fluid reservoir and remove brake reservoir cap
-
Remove LH front wheel cap
Note1x cap, 8x clips, Use both hands to firmly pull wheel cap to release clips, Cap may remove with or without mounting ring attached

Loosen LH front wheel nuts
Note6x nuts, 21mm, 205 Nm
-
Raise vehicle fully
NoteSet to a comfortable working height, Lower to locks, Ensure locks engage on both sides to prevent tilting

Remove LH front wheel
Note6x nuts, 21mm, 205 Nm
-
Remove LH front brake hose bracket
Note1x bolt, 10mm, 10 Nm
-
Remove brake pad anti-rattle springs from LH front brake caliper
Note2x springs, 2x tabs each
-
Remove LH front caliper and set aside
Note2x bolts, 24mm, 315 Nm, Rotor will be loose until caliper is installed, Use lug nut to secure rotor as needed

Remove brake pads from LH front caliper
Note2x pads

Clean LH front brake caliper
NoteUse nylon brush and brake cleaner as needed, Allow 1 minute dry time

Clean LH front brake caliper anti-rattle springs
Note2x springs, Use soapy water or brake cleaner as needed, Allow 1 minute dry time

Remove LH front brake caliper boots
Note4x boots, Insert pick under center of boot then rotate

Install LH front brake caliper boots
Note4x boots, Position boot then press center with both thumbs

Install brake pads onto LH front caliper
Note2x pads
-
Install LH front caliper
Note2x bolts, 24mm, 315 Nm, Rotor will be loose until caliper is installed, Use lug nut to secure rotor as needed

Install brake pad anti-rattle springs onto LH front brake caliper
Note2x springs, 2x tabs each
-
Install LH front brake hose bracket
Note1x bolt, 10mm, 10 Nm
-
Lower vehicle to access frunk area
NoteRaise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered, Keep front suspension components free of contacting ground and surrounding items

Check brake fluid level and top off reservoir if necessary
NoteIf level is above Max line, remove extra fluid

Install brake reservoir cap

Pump brake pedal a few times to ensure pedal feels normal

Remove shop rags from underneath brake fluid reservoir
-
Install LH front wheel
Note6x nuts, 21mm, 205 Nm
-
Lower vehicle until tires are touching the ground
NoteRaise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered

Torque LH front wheel nuts
Note6x nuts, 21mm, 205 Nm

Install LH front wheel cap
Note1x cap, 8x clips, Partially secure wheel cap to wheel, While partially installed wheel cover can be rotated to align with tire design, When aligned press inward from center of cap then secure all clips to mounting ring

Install rear underhood apron
Note9x clips, Adjust windshield seal as required

Close powered front trunk
NoteVia exterior switch or UI

Remove vehicle from lift
NoteLower rack arms fully and remove them from under vehicle, Remove air suspension from "Jack Mode"

Raise LH front window
-
Close LH front door
-
Perform a road test and burnish brakes
NoteEnsure proper brake pedal feel and performance Add correction code 00040100 as needed
