Air Suspension Compressor and Reservoir - Air Suspension Compressor (Remove and Install)

  • 2024-11-20: Remove airline removal tool and note. Fitting can be disconnected using 10mm wrench and flathead screwdriver.

Remove

  1. Raise and support the vehicle on a 2 post lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  2. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  3. Deflate the air suspension system. See Air Suspension - Pressurize / Depressurize - Full System.
  4. Open the tonneau cover.
  5. Open the tailgate.
  6. Remove the bed floor assembly. See Truck Bed - Bed Floor Assembly (Remove and Install).
  7. Disconnect the air line from the air compressor.
    3 Nm (2.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm 12 point combination wrench
    • Flathead scewdriver

    x1 VOSS fitting

    Note
    Discard the air line fitting after removal.
  8. Disconnect the air compressor electrical connectors (x3) and release the clips (x4).
  9. Remove the nuts (x3) that attach the air suspension compressor carrier bracket to the body.
    12 Nm (8.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm deep socket
  10. Remove the bolts (x4) that attach the air suspension compressor carrier bracket to the air compressor.
    5.5 Nm (4.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T30 socket
  11. Remove the air suspension compressor.
    4 Nm (2.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 12 mm 12 point combination wrench

    Discard the air line fitting after removal.

Install

  1. Install the air suspension compressor.
    4 Nm (2.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 12 mm 12-point deep socket

    x1 VOSS fitting

    Install new VOSS fitting.

    Note
    Remove the white plug when the air lines are ready to be installed

    Note
    Fully insert the air line into the fitting. It should sit between the two white marks on the air lines. Verify the lines are properly seated by performing a push-pull test.
  2. Install the bolts (x4) that attach the air suspension compressor carrier bracket to the air compressor.
    5.5 Nm (4.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T30 socket
  3. Install the nuts (x3) that attach the air suspension compressor carrier bracket to the body.
    12 Nm (8.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm deep socket
  4. Connect the air compressor electrical connectors (x3) and fasten the clips (x4).
  5. Connect the air lines onto the air compressor.
    3 Nm (2.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket

    Install the air line hose.

    Install new VOSS fitting.

    Remove the white plug when the air lines are ready to be installed.

  6. Install the bed floor assembly. See Truck Bed - Bed Floor Assembly (Remove and Install).
  7. Close the tonneau cover.
  8. Close the tailgate.
  9. Refill the air suspension system reservoir. See Air Suspension - Pressurize / Depressurize - Full System.
  10. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
