Panel - Door Trim - Front - LH (Remove and Install)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Install).
  3. Disconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power (Modify).
  4. Remove the LH front door beltline assembly. See Beltline Assembly - Door Panel - Front - LH (Remove and Install).
  5. Remove the bolts (x3) that attach the LH front door trim to the door.
    7 Nm (5.2 lbs-ft)

    Some early production vehicles may have 4 fasteners and use a 10 mm socket.

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8 mm deep socket
  6. Remove the LH front door trim from the door assembly.
    1. Release the clips (x14) that attach the door trim to the door assembly.
    2. Release the manual release cable and cable lock, and then rotate to release the cable end.
    3. Release the beltline trim harness from the harness guides (x2).
    4. Disconnect the electrical connector.

Install

  1. If replacing the LH front door panel or LH front door assembly, inspect the new door panel and new door assembly for alignment pins (door panel) and alignment pin holes (door assembly).
    • If the door panel has guide pins and the door assembly does not have guide pin holes, continue to the next step to rework the door panel. Add Correction Code 1513047037 (or 1513047047 for the RH door rework).
    • If the door panel does not have guide pins and the door assembly has guide pin holes, continue to the next step to rework the door assembly. Add Correction Code 1513047037 (or 1513047047 for the RH door rework).
    • If the door panel has guide pins and the door assembly has guide pin holes, or if the door panel does not have guide pins and the door assembly does not have guide pin holes, skip to step 5.
  2. Use diagonal cutters to remove the guide pins (x5) highlighted in the image below. Skip to the next step if door panel rework is not required.
  3. Use IPA wipes to clean the surface area on the LH door assembly around the alignment pin holes (x5), and then install an NVH pad on each hole (x5). Skip to the next step if door assembly rework is not required.

    Note
    Allow 1 min for dry time for the IPA to dry.
  4. Install the LH front door trim onto the door assembly.
    1. Position the door trim onto the door assembly.
    2. Connect the electrical connector.
    3. Secure the beltline trim harness to the harness guides (x2).
    4. Secure the manual release cable and cable lock.
    5. Secure the clips (x14) that attach the door trim to the door assembly.

    Replace any missing or damaged clips.
  5. Install the bolts (x3) that attach the LH front door trim to the door.
    7 Nm (5.2 lbs-ft)

  6. Install the LH front door beltline assembly. See Beltline Assembly - Door Panel - Front - LH (Remove and Install).
  7. Reconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power (Modify).
  8. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Install).
  9. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
