Lamp - Tailgate (Remove and Install)

Remove

  1. Remove the tailgate inner cover. See Cover - Inner - Tailgate (Remove and Install).
  2. Remove the bolts (x8) that attach the tailgate lamp to the tailgate, disconnect the electrical connectors (x2), release the harness clips (x2) and then remove the tailgate lamp from the tailgate.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)
    Note
    Assistance is recommended.
    Note
    Gently pry up on the lip to release the lamp from the tailgate.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T30 socket

Install

  1. Install masking tape onto the tailgate upper lip to protect the panel during install.
  2. Position the tailgate lamp to the tailgate, connect the electrical connectors (x2), secure the harness clips (x2), and then install the bolts (x8) that attach the tailgate lamp to the tailgate.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)
    Note
    Assistance is recommended.
    Note
    Push the lamp assembly inward past the tailgate upper lip.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T30 socket
  3. Remove the tape from the tailgate upper lip.
  4. Install the tailgate inner cover. See Cover - Inner - Tailgate (Remove and Install).
