Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  3. Remove the LH rear wheel center cap. See Wheel Cover - Front - LH (Remove and Install).
  4. Loosen the LH rear halfshaft bolt.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 24 mm socket
  5. Remove the LH rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  6. Remove the LH rear halfshaft bolt.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 24 mm socket
  7. Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the rear left chassis corner harness electrical connector from the brake caliper.
  8. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH rear wheel speed sensor to the LH rear knuckle, and then release the harness clips (x2).
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T30 socket
  9. Release the LH rear parking brake with the EPB release tool.
  10. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH rear brake caliper to the LH rear knuckle, and then use an S-hook to hang the caliper on the body.
    150 Nm (110.6 lbs-ft)

    Note
    Route the caliper hose so that it does not get caught on the stabar assembly.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 21 mm socket
  11. Remove the LH rear brake rotor.

    After the caliper is released, the rotor is also loose.
  12. Remove the bolts (x4) that attach the LH rear hub to the LH rear knuckle, and then remove the hub from the vehicle.
    105 Nm (77.4 lbs-ft)

    Note
    Shield will be loose until the hub is installed. There is an insert on the shield for orientation.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 18 mm socket

Install

  1. Position the LH rear hub assembly to the LH rear knuckle, and then install the bolts (x4) that attach the hub assembly to the knuckle..
    105 Nm (77.4 lbs-ft)

    Note
    The shield will be loose until the hub is installed. There is an insert on the shield for orientation.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 18 mm socket
  2. Mount the LH rear brake rotor.
  3. Position the LH rear brake caliper to the LH rear knuckle, and then install the bolts (x2) that attach the caliper to the knuckle.
    150 Nm (110.6 lbs-ft)

    Note
    Watch for clearance when torquing to not damage the lines or connector.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 21 mm socket
  4. Position the LH rear wheel speed sensor onto the knuckle, and then install the bolt and clips (x2) that attach the sensor to the knuckle.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T30 socket
  5. Connect the rear left chassis corner harness electrical connector to the brake caliper, and then engage the connector lock.
  6. Engage the LH rear halfshaft to the LH rear hub assembly, and then install and hand-tighten the halfshaft bolt until the bolt flange is seated on the hub.

    Note
    After positioning the halfshaft against the hub, rotate the hub until the splines click. If splines are properly engaged, the hub will rotate halfshaft.

    Note
    With the halfshaft properly engaged with the hub assembly, tighten the bolt so that the bolt flange is seated on the hub. This will prevent accidental spline disengagement until the bolt is torqued.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 24 mm socket
  7. Install the LH rear wheel, and then install and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 21 mm socket
  8. Lower the vehicle until the tires are touching the ground.
  9. Tighten the LH rear halfshaft bolt.
    200 Nm (147.5 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 24 mm socket
  10. Tighten the LH rear wheel lug nuts.
    205 Nm (151.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 21 mm socket
  11. Install the LH rear wheel center cap. See Wheel Cover - Front - LH (Remove and Install).
  12. Remove the vehicle from the lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  13. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
