Tonneau - Tonneau Slats (Manual Release)

Remove
- Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
- Place the vehicle into Service Mode. See Service Mode.
- Open the tonneau cover.
- Open the tailgate.

Open the bed cargo tub lid.
- Remove the bed cargo tub struts from the bed cargo tub lid and leave the struts still attached to the tub. See Tonneau - Bed Cargo Tub Strut (Remove and Install).

Remove the bolts (x4) that attach the
bed cargo tub lid.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
NoteRecommend assistance. - Remove the truck bed floor assembly. See Truck Bed - Bed Floor Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH and RH rear bed closeouts. See Truck Bed - Rear Bed Closeout - LH (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH and RH upper bed side wall assemblies. See Truck Bed Exterior Trim - Upper Bed Side Wall Assembly - LH (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH and RH bed side walls. See Bed Side Wall - Bed Side Wall - LH (Remove and Install).

Disconnect the LH tonneau motor
electrical connector, and then remove the bolts (x2) that attach the motor to the body.
Repeat this step for the RH tonneau motor.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket

Manually guide the tonneau slats
system and chain out of the bed rails to the midway closed position.
NoteRecommend assistance.NoteUnwind the tonneau slats system from the bottom to release the tension and raise slats onto the upper bed rails to the midway closed position.CAUTIONTonneau system slat are not restricted or held onto motors and can move freely on the bed rails.

Remove the LH and RH sail appliques. See:
- Truck Bed Exterior Trim - Sail Applique Assembly - LH (Remove and Replace) for the LH sail applique.
- Truck Bed Exterior Trim - Sail Applique Assembly - RH (Remove and Replace) for the RH sail applique.
- Remove the LH and RH water management seal. See Tailgate Seals - Tonneau Water Management Seal, LH, Center (Remove and Install).
- Remove the rear lamp closeout applique. See Truck Bed Exterior Trim - Rear Lamp Closeout Applique - LH (Remove and Install).

Remove the bolts (x3) that attach the
LH tonneau rail slip datum. Repeat this step for the RH tonneau rail slip datum.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket

Remove the LH tonneau rail slip datum.
Repeat this step for the RH tonneau rail slip datum.

Remove the LH tailgate bump stop.
Repeat this step for the RH tailgate bump stop.
Notex1 datum.NoteRotate, and then release inboard.

jig to powertrain table.
NoteTonneau jig currently in development. Apply tape to leading edges that will engage tonneau rails.

of tonneau jig in alignment with the tonneau bed rails.
NoteConnect air supply. Raise and adjust angle of tonneau jig on powertrain table to align with tonneau bed rails.

tonneau service jig to the tonneau bed rails.
NoteAlign the bottom of the tonneau jig with the bed tonneau rails.

remaining tonneau slats and chain out of the bed rails while moving the jig
rearwards.

Install

Install the bolts (x2) that attach the
RH tonneau motor to the body, and then connect the motor electrical connector. Repeat
this step for the LH tonneau motor.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket

Placeholder - Position the tonneau
service jig above the tailgate and at the same angle of the tonneau bed rails.
NoteLay tonneau chain on the tailgate and tape ends to prevent any shifting.

Placeholder - Feed the tonneau into
the bed rails.
NoteAssistance required.NoteEvenly feed the tonneau chain into bed rails and remove the tape once fully engaged in the bed rails. Continue to evenly feed slats into the bed rails until the chain engages tonneau motors. Monitor Y reaction clips entering the bed rails and ensure the clips do not bind on the rail. Monitor slats during install and ensure all are squared during install. Adjust as necessary. Refer to video clip to illustrate binding Y reaction clips and offset slats during installation.
- Connect a laptop with Toolbox to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
- In Toolbox, click the Actions tab, and then search for "Tonneau."

Click Tonneau Cover Calibration,
and then click Run. Allow the routine to complete.
NoteClick the X at the top right of window to close once completed.

Placeholder - Calibration routine will
bring in slats to full open position.
NoteAssistance recommended to engage slat chain with motors during calibration. Once the motors have engaged system will pull open until end stops are reached.
- Disconnect the laptop from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).

Placeholder - Remove the tonneau
service jig from the vehicle.
NoteBack away from the tailgate. Lower jig. Remove air supply.

Install the RH tailgate bump stop.
Repeat this step for the LH tailgate bump stop.
Notex1 datumNoteRotate and secure.

Install the RH tonneau rail slip
datum. Repeat this step for the LH tonneau rail slip.
NoteSet 2 mm space between the datum and the end of bed rail.

Install the bolts (x3) that attach the
RH tonneau rail slip datum. Repeat this step for the LH tonneau rail slip datum.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
NoteHand start the center black locating bolt first. -
Install the RH tail lamp applique.
Repeat this step for the LH tail lamp applique.
Notex2 clips, x2 datums
- Install the LH and RH water management seal. See Tailgate Seals - Tonneau Water Management Seal, LH, Center (Remove and Install).

Install the LH and RH sail appliques. See:

- Install the LH and RH bed side walls. See Bed Side Wall - Bed Side Wall - LH (Remove and Install).

- Install the LH and RH upper bed side wall assemblies. See Truck Bed Exterior Trim - Upper Bed Side Wall Assembly - LH (Remove and Install).
- Install the truck bed floor assembly. See Truck Bed - Bed Floor Assembly (Remove and Install).

Install the bolts (x4) that attach the
bed cargo tub lid.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
NoteRecommend assistance.NotePosition the bed cargo tub lid onto the vehicle. Install the bolts that attach the bed cargo tub lid onto the hinges. - Install the bed cargo tub struts. See Tonneau - Bed Cargo Tub Strut (Remove and Install).
- Close the tonneau cover.
- Close the tailgate.
