Cybertruck electronics are powered by a 48V "mid voltage" or "MV" architecture that is designed to improve efficiency. Servicing MV components requires extra knowledge and care in order to avoid personal and/or vehicular harm. Read and understand MV precautions in Electrical Precautions and make sure any required MV-related training courses have been completed, as applicable.

  1. Open all the doors and lower all the windows.
  2. Manually latch all doors to prevent lockout

  3. Run ODIN routine PROC_ICE_X_ENTER-SERVICE-MODEvia Toolbox: (link)
  4. Move the LH and RH front seats fully forward.
  5. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Install).
  6. Disconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power (Modify).
  7. Remove the front header trim. See Trim - Header - Front (Remove and Install).
  8. Close LH and RH visors and retract LH and RH windshield shade assemblies
  9. Remove the rear header trim. See Trim - Header - Rear (Remove and Install).
  10. Remove the LH mid A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Mid - LH (Remove and Install).
  11. Remove instrument panel LH quarter panel. See Quarter Panel Assembly - LH - Instrument Panel (Remove and Replace).
  12. Remove the LH upper A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Install).
  13. Remove the LH cantrail trim. See Trim - Cantrail - LH (Remove and Install).
  14. Remove the RH mid A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Mid - LH (Remove and Install).
  15. Remove instrument panel RH quarter panel. See Quarter Panel Assembly - LH - Instrument Panel (Remove and Replace).
  16. Remove the RH upper A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Install).
  17. Remove the RH cantrail trim. See Trim - Cantrail - LH (Remove and Install).
  18. Remove the 2nd row seatback LH outboard bolster. See Bolster - Outboard - LH - 2nd Row Seat Back (Remove and Install).
  19. Remove the 2nd row seatback LH inboard bolster. See Bolster - Inboard - LH - 2nd Row Seat Back (Remove and Install).
  20. Fold up 2nd row 60 seat

  21. Partially release LH rear primary door seal
  22. Remove the LH lower C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Install).

  24. Remove LH 2nd row shoulder cover

  27. Fold up 2nd row 40 seat

    1x bolt, 8mm, 6 Nm, Do not remove locking cover, Loosen until bolt spins freely, Double check that bolt and locking cover are fully released before attempting to release any MV connectors, Plastic Locking CoverUse hand tools on any plastic locking covers, The locking cover may release crooked causing it to get stuck, secure bolt a few turns to loosen the tension then release bolt while assisting plastic locking cover by gently prying on the side that's stuck, Metal Locking CoverYou can use power tools, Quickly disconnecting locking cover helps connectors remove symmetrically,
  36. Release connector J3 X0052 from rear vehicle controller

    1x connector, 2x tabs, 1x clip, Do not remove locking cover, Each connector has two tabs one on the top right side and one on the left lower side of the connector head, You need to press both tabs in order for the connector head to clear locking cover and release successfully, Using a pocket screwdriver to press one of the connector tabs while pressing the other one yourself makes this process easier
  37. Release rear vehicle controller connectors

    3x connectors, 6 tabs, Do not remove locking cover, Depress tabs on top and bottom of each connector to release from locking cover, You need to press both tabs in order for the connector head to clear locking cover and release successfully, Using a pocket screwdriver to press one of the connector tabs while pressing the other one yourself makes this process easier

    1x bolt, 8mm, 6 Nm, Ensure connectors are aligned before securing bracket, Secure locking cover bolt by hand initially to prevent thread strippingPlastic Locking CoverUse hand tools on any plastic locking covers, The locking cover may secure crooked causing it to get stuck, release bolt a few turns to loosen the tension then secure bolt while assist plastic locking cover by gently pushing on the side that's stuck, Push connectors too while driving the locking cover bolt to ensure correct seatingMetal Locking CoverYou can use power tools, Slowly drive locking cover, Ensure locking cover and bolt are seated fully

  95. Reconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power (Modify).
  96. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Install).
  97. Close the powered frunk.
  98. Restore the LH and RH front seats back to their original position.
  99. Run ODIN routine PROC_ICE_X_EXIT-SERVICE-MODEvia Toolbox: (link)
  100. Raise all the windows and close all the doors.
