Passenger Ducting and Vents - Air Extractor (Remove and Install)

Remove

  1. Open all the doors and lower all the windows.
  2. Manually latch all the doors to prevent lockout.

    Use a screwdriver to engage the latch.
  3. Place the vehicle into Service Mode via the UI. See Service Mode.
  4. Move the front seats fully forward.
  5. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
  6. Disconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power.
  7. Remove the front header trim. See Headliner Trim - Front Header Trim (Remove and Install).
  8. Close the LH and RH visors and retract the LH and RH windshield shade assemblies.
  9. Remove the rear header trim. See Headliner Trim - Rear Header Trim (Remove and Install).
  10. Remove the LH mid A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Post Interior Trim - A-Pillar Mid Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
  11. Remove the LH IP quarter panel. See Dash Panel - Quarter Panel Assembly - LH (Remove and Install).
  12. Remove the LH cantrail trim. See Headliner Trim - Cantrail Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
  13. Repeat step 10 through step 12 for the RH side of the vehicle.
  14. Remove the LH 2nd row seat outboard bolster. See 2nd Row Seat Assemblies - 2R Seat Side Bolster LH (Remove and Install).
  15. Remove the LH 2nd row seat inboard bolster. See 2nd Row Seat Assemblies - 2R Seat Back Inboard Bolster LH (Remove and Install).
  16. Fold the LH 2nd row seat to the up position.
  17. Remove the LH upper C-pillar trim. See A-B-C Post Interior Trim - C-Pillar Upper Trim - LH (Remove and Install)
  18. Remove the LH 2nd row shoulder cover. See 2nd Row Seat Back Hardware - 2nd Row Seat Shoulder Cover - LH (Remove and Install).
  19. Repeat step 14 through step 17 for the RH side of the vehicle.
  20. Remove the rear wall lower trim. See Passenger Compartment Carpet - End Item, Rear Wall Lower Trim, Soft Trim (Remove and Install).
  21. Release the connector lock and disconnect the LH subwoofer electrical connector, remove the bolts (x2) that attach the subwoofer to the vehicle, and then slide the subwoofer towards the center of the vehicle to remove it.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket
  22. Disconnect the RH subwoofer electrical connector, remove the bolts (x2) that attach the subwoofer to the vehicle, and then slide the subwoofer towards the center of the vehicle to remove it.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket
  23. Release the bolt that locks the locking frame to the rear controller.
    4 Nm (2.9 lbs-ft)

    Note
    The bolt is captive and the locking frame remains attached to the controller. Do not remove the locking frame from the controller.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8 mm socket
  24. Release the harness clip and disconnect the J3 X0052 connector from the rear controller.

    Note
    Press the locking tabs on the top and bottom of the connector to release it from the locking frame.
  25. Disconnect the electrical connectors (x3) from the charge port ECU.
  26. Remove the bolt that attaches the charge port ECU to the vehicle, and then remove the ECU from the vehicle.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8 mm socket
  27. Push the red release mechanism to release the 2nd row center retractor from the LH 2nd row buckle.
  28. Remove the bolts (x6) that attach the 2nd row seat back to the vehicle.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  29. Remove the bolts (x8) that attach the lower 2nd row seat assembly to the vehicle.
    50 Nm (36.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 15 mm socket
  30. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH and center/RH 2nd row buckle to the seat assembly.
    40 Nm (29.5 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 15 mm socket
  31. Remove the bolts (x4) that attach the 2nd row seat assembly to the structural frame.
    50 Nm (36.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 15 mm socket
  32. Remove the LH 2nd row shoulder cover. See 2nd Row Seat Back Hardware - 2nd Row Seat Shoulder Cover - LH (Remove and Install).
  33. Release the clips (x7) that attach the RH 2nd row shoulder cover to the vehicle, and then release the cover from the vehicle.
  34. With assistance, remove the 2nd row seat assembly from the vehicle structural frame onto lower carpet area.
  35. Release the tabs (x4) that attach the air extractor to the vehicle, and then remove the extractor from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Position the air extractor to the vehicle, and then secure the tabs (x4) that attach the extractor to the vehicle.

    Note
    Perform a push pull test to verify the extractor is secure.
  2. With assistance, install the 2nd row seat assembly to the vehicle structural frame.
  3. Position the RH 2nd row shoulder cover to the vehicle, and then secure the clips (x7) that attach the cover to the vehicle.
  4. Position the LH 2nd row shoulder cover to the vehicle, and then secure the clips (x7).
  5. Install the bolts (x4) that attach the 2nd row seat assembly to the structural frame.
    50 Nm (36.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 15 mm socket
  6. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the LH and center/RH 2nd row buckle to the seat assembly.
    40 Nm (29.5 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 15 mm socket
  7. Install the bolts (x8) that attach the lower 2nd row seat assembly to the vehicle.
    50 Nm (36.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 15 mm socket
  8. Install the bolts (x6) that attach the 2nd row seat back to the vehicle.
    9 Nm (6.6 lbs-ft)
    7 Nm (5.2 lbs-ft)

    Note
    The upper bolts (x4) are torqued to 9 Nm and the lower bolts (x2) are torqued to 7 Nm.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  9. Secure the 2nd row center retractor onto the 2nd LH row buckle.
  10. Position the charge port ECU into the vehicle, and then install the bolt that attaches the ECU to the vehicle.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)

    Align the charge port ECU into the cavity for installation.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8 mm socket
  11. Connect the electrical connectors (x3) to the charge port ECU.
  12. Connector the J3 X0052 connector to the locking frame, and then install the harness clip.
  13. Install the bolt that locks the locking frame to the rear controller.
    4 Nm (2.9 lbs-ft)

    Make sure the connectors are aligned before securing the locking frame.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8 mm socket
  14. Position the RH subwoofer into the vehicle, install the bolts (x2) that attach it to the vehicle, and then connect the electrical connector.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)

    Note
    Slide the subwoofer towards the outside of the vehicle to secure the port.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket
  15. Position the LH subwoofer into the vehicle, install the bolts (x2) that attach it to the vehicle, and then connect the electrical connector and engage the connector lock.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)

    Note
    Slide the subwoofer towards the LH side of the vehicle to secure the outer port to the body.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket
  16. Install the rear wall lower trim. See Passenger Compartment Carpet - End Item, Rear Wall Lower Trim, Soft Trim (Remove and Install).
  17. Install the RH upper C-pillar trim. See A-B-C Post Interior Trim - C-Pillar Upper Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
  18. Install the RH 2nd row seat inboard bolster. See 2nd Row Seat Assemblies - 2R Seat Back Inboard Bolster LH (Remove and Install).
  19. Install the RH 2nd row seat outboard bolster. See 2nd Row Seat Assemblies - 2R Seat Side Bolster LH (Remove and Install).
  20. Repeat step 17through step 19 for the LH side of the vehicle.
  21. Install the LH cantrail trim. See Headliner Trim - Cantrail Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
  22. Install the LH IP quarter panel. See Dash Panel - Quarter Panel Assembly - LH (Remove and Install).
  23. Install the LH mid A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Post Interior Trim - A-Pillar Mid Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
  24. Repeat step 21 through step 23 for the RH side of the vehicle.
  25. Install the rear header trim. See Headliner Trim - Rear Header Trim (Remove and Install).
  26. Install the front header trim. See Headliner Trim - Front Header Trim (Remove and Install).
  27. Reconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power.
  28. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
  29. Restore the RH front seat back to its original position.
  30. Restore the LH front seat back to its original position.
  31. Exit Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  32. Raise all the windows and close all the doors.
