Door Glass - Moving Glass - Front LH (Remove and Install)

CAUTION
New glass components
(windshield, roof, door, and fixed glass) must be inspected before installation to meet
Tesla’s internal standards of quality. Perform the inspection described in Pre-Installation Glass Inspection before beginning this
procedure.
Remove
- Remove the LH front door trim panel. See Front Door Trim Pad - Door Trim Front - LH (Remove and Install).

Connect an external window switch.

Use a pocket screwdriver to manually latch the LH front door.
- Raise the LH front window.

Release the rubber datums (x6) to remove the LH front door inner waist belt seal from the door assembly.

Remove the LH front door grommets (x4).

With the help of an assistant, hold the door glass in position before continuing to the next step.
WarningThe clamps do not hold the entire regulator base. Failure to support the glass while removing the fasteners in the next step may result in the glass slipping off the regulator.

With the assistant supporting the glass, remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH front door moving glass to the regulator, and then remove the glass from the door.
WarningMake sure to support the glass while removing the fasteners. The clamps do not hold the entire base of the regulator.TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
Install

Position the LH front door moving glass into the LH front door, and then install and hand tighten the bolts (x2) that attach the glass from the regulator.
NoteBe careful of the glass slipping off of the mount.TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket

Manually release the LH front door latch.
NotePull the manual release cable away from the vehicle to unlatch.
- Close the LH front door.

Check and adjust the gap and flushness of the LH front door moving glass.
NoteConnect a external window switch to help with adjustment if needed.
- Open the LH front door.

Torque the bolts (x2) that attach the LH front door moving glass to the regulator, and then install the grommets (x2).TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket

Install the LH front door inner waist belt seal.
- Install the LH front door trim panel. See Front Door Trim Pad - Door Trim Front - LH (Remove and Install).

Calibrate the LH front window.
NotePress and hold down the selected window for 15 seconds. Raise the window and hold for 15 seconds. Test window by hard pressing to verify auto raise/lower functions correctly.
- Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
