Remove

  1. Remove the LH 1st row seat. See Seat Assembly - 1st Row - LH (Remove and Install).
  2. Remove the LH 1st row outboard side shield. See Side Shield - Outboard - 1st Row Seat - LH (Remove and Install).
  3. Remove the LH 1st row lap pretensioner. See Pretensioner - Lap - Driver (Remove and Install).
  4. Release the clips (x3) that attach the LH front seat harness to the LH side seat track and frame.
  5. Remove the bolt and release the clips (x2) and tabs (x2) that attach the LH 1st row outboard side shield carrier to the seat assembly, and then remove the side shield from the assembly.

    Release the leading edge of the trim, and then slide the trim away from the seat frame.

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 socket
  6. Remove LH front seat front outboard track cover. See Track Cover - 1st Row Seat (Remove and Install). Repeat this step for the rear outboard track cover.
  7. Remove the LH 1st row buckle. See Buckle, ZF, Sumitomo - Seat Belt - Driver (Remove and Install).
  8. Release the clips (x2) and tabs (x2) that attach the LH 1st row inboard side shield carrier to the seat assembly, and then remove the side shield from the assembly.

    Release the leading edge of the trim, and then slide the trim away from the seat frame.
  9. Release the clips (x2) that attach the LH front seat harness to the RH track and frame.
  10. Remove LH front seat front outboard track cover

    Slide cover forward to release, Pry gently with trim tool as required
  11. With assistance, place the seat on the seat back so that the underside of the seat is accessible.

    Place the seat on a protected surface.
  12. Release the seat back elastic straps (x2) from the seat frame.
  13. Release the soft trim retainers (x2) from the seat frame.
  14. Disconnect the FSC and FSB vent heat pad electrical connectors from the seat controller.
  15. Disconnect the tilt motor electrical connector.
  16. Disconnect the LH 1st row height adjuster track motor electrical connector.
  17. Disconnect the LH front seat track motor electrical connector.
  18. Disconnect the LH front seat track position sensor electrical connector.
  19. Disconnect the LH front seat cushion ventilation electrical connector from the cushion fan.

    Note
    Black connector located at the bottom of the cushion fan.
  20. Disconnect LH front seat harness electrical connectors (x2) and slide the connector housing off of the plastic assembly, release the clips (x4) and retainer clip, and then remove the LH front seat harness from the cushion frame.
  21. Release the soft trim retainer from the inboard side of the seat frame.
  22. Release the soft trim retainer from the outboard side of the seat frame.
  23. Release the soft trim retainer from the front of the seat frame.
  24. Position the seat assembly upright.
  25. Remove the seat cushion from the seat frame.
  26. With assistance, remove and discard the bolts (x4) that attach the LH front seat back assembly to the seat cushion frame, and then remove the assembly from the seat cushion frame.
    43 Nm (31.7 lbs-ft)

  27. Release the tabs (x4) that attach the LH front seat cushion suspension to the power seat cushion frame, and then remove the cushion suspension from the seat cushion frame.

    Raise the portion seated on the rear cushion tube, and then pull the assembly away from the tabs to release it.

Install

  1. Install the LH front seat cushion suspension onto the power seat cushion frame.

    Position the suspension along the metal tabs, and then seat the rear portion on the rear cushion tube.
  2. With assistance, position the LH front seat back assembly to the seat cushion frame, and then install new bolts (x4) that attach the assembly to the seat cushion frame.
    43 Nm (31.7 lbs-ft)

  3. Install the seat bottom cushion onto the seat frame.

    Note
    Feed the trim between the seat back trim and the seat frame.
  4. Install the soft trim retainer to the front end of the seat frame.
  5. Install the soft trim retainer on the outboard side of the seat frame.
  6. Install the soft trim retainer to the inboard side of the seat frame.
  7. With assistance, place the seat on the seat back so that the underside of the seat is accessible.

    Place the seat on a protected surface.
  8. Position the LH front seat harness onto the cushion frame, and then connect the electrical connectors (x2) and secure the clips (x4).
  9. Connect the LH front seat cushion ventilation electrical connector to the cushion fan.

    Black connector located at the bottom of the cushion fan.
  10. Connect the LH front seat track position sensor electrical connector.
  11. Connect the LH 1st row height adjuster motor electrical connector.
  12. Connect the FSC and FSB vent heat pad electrical connectors.
  13. Install the soft trim retainers (x2) onto the seat frame.
  14. Install the seat back elastic straps (x2) onto the seat frame.
  15. Install the clips (x2) that attach the LH front seat harness to the RH track and frame.
  16. Position the leading edge of the LH 1st row inboard side shield carrier onto the seat assembly, slide the trim into the seat frame, and then secure the clips (x2) and tabs (x2) that attach the trim tot eh seat frame.
  17. Install LH front seat rear inboard track cover. See Track Cover - 1st Row Seat (Remove and Install). Repeat this step for the front inboard track cover.
  18. Install the LH 1st row buckle. See Buckle, ZF, Sumitomo - Seat Belt - Driver (Remove and Install).
  19. Install the clips (x3) that attach the LH front seat harness to the LH side seat track and frame.
  20. Position the LH side shield carrier onto the LH front seat, slide the carrier forward, and then secure the clips (x2) and tabs (x2).
  21. Install the LH 1st row lap pretensioner. See Pretensioner - Lap - Driver (Remove and Install).
  22. Install the LH 1st row outboard side shield. See Side Shield - Outboard - 1st Row Seat - LH (Remove and Install).
  23. Install the LH 1st row seat. See Seat Assembly - 1st Row - LH (Remove and Install).
  24. On the vehicle touchscreen, navigate to Controls > Service > Drivers seat, Steering, and Mirrors Calibration > Start, follow the on screen instructions, and allow the process to complete.
  25. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
