Strut Damper - Tailgate (Remove and Install)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Open the tailgate.
  3. Remove the LH bed closeout panel. See Bed Closeout - Rear - LH (Remove and Install).
  4. Release the spring clip at each end of the tailgate strut damper, and then remove the damper from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Position the tailgate strut damper into the vehicle, and then install the spring clip at each end to attach the damper to the vehicle.
    Note
    Raise and lower the tailgate as required to align ball mounts.
  2. Remove the LH bed closeout panel. See Bed Closeout - Rear - LH (Remove and Install).
  3. Close the tailgate.
  4. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
