Airbag - Front Passenger (Remove and Install)

  • 2026-02-19: Added note on using PROC_RCM_DISARM if using this procedure to diagnose the SRS.
Warning
If using this procedure to diagnosis the vehicle's Supplemental Restraint Systems (SRS), disarm the RCM, which will prevent all airbags and pretensioners from deploying. Re-arm the RCM after all of the vehicle's SRS components are re-installed.

Remove

  1. Remove the RH air wave duct. See Panel Duct - RH (Remove and Install).
  2. Disconnect the connectors (x3), remove the bolts (x6) that attach the front passenger airbag to the vehicle, and then remove the airbag from the vehicle.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
    Note
    Pull back the white tabs simultaneously to release the connectors.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket

Install

  1. Position the front passenger airbag into the vehicle, install the bolts (x6) that attach the airbag to the vehicle, and then connect the connectors (x3).
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
    CAUTION
    Install the bolts with dimpled heads in the vehicle's rearmost positions.
    Note
    Make sure the connectors are fully seated.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  2. Install the RH air wave duct. See Panel Duct - RH (Remove and Install).
