Remove
- Remove the tailgate inner cover. See Truck Bed - Tailgate Inner Cover (Remove and Install).
- Remove the tailgate lamp. See Tail Lights - Tailgate Lamp (Remove and Install).

Release the locking tab, and then
disconnect the LH tailgate latch connector. Repeat this step for the RH tailgate latch
connector.

Release the harness clips (x10), and
then pull the exterior harness through the tailgate opening to remove it from the
tailgate.
Install

Feed the exterior harness through the
tailgate opening to install it into the liftgate, and then secure the harness clips
(x10).

Connect the LH tailgate latch connector, and then engage the connector lock. Repeat
this step for the RH tailgate latch connector.
