Top Applique - Tailgate (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Open the tailgate.
  3. Release the clips (x10), guide datums (x3), and hooks (x5 rear, x7 front) that attach the tailgate top applique to the tailgate, and then remove the top applique from the tailgate.

Vehicles built after 11/4/24 and vehicles that have had the sail applique retrofit performed are equipped with tailgate appliques with PN: 2037459-00-A. Vehicles built before 11/4/24 and have not had the sail applique retrofit performed are equipped with tailgate appliques with PN: 1812376-00-C. If the tailgate applique is being replaced, check the applique part number and make sure to replace it with one with the correct part number.
  1. Close the tailgate.
  2. Position the tailgate top applique onto the tailgate assembly so that the rear applique hooks (x6) are aligned with grooves (x6) in the tailgate assembly, and then simultaneously press down and pivot the applique forward into position, ensuring that the hooks are engaged in the grooves.

  3. With the rear hooks engaged, press down on the tailgate top applique to engage the guide datums (x3), clips (x10), and front hooks (x7) that attach the top applique to the tailgate.

  4. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
