Windshield - Temperature and Relative Humidity Sensor (Remove and Install)

Remove

Remove the rear view mirror beauty cover. See Rearview Mirror - Beauty Cover (Remove and Install).
NoteIt is not necessary to remove the interior camera from the beauty cover assembly.

Disconnect the electrical connector,
remove the screws (x2) that attach the relative humidity and temperature sensor to the
vehicle, and then remove the sensor from the vehicle.NoteMake sure the contact pad does not remain on the windshield.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- PH00 screwdriver
Install
Note
Ensure that a graphene foam block is present on the contact pad and the blue tape
is removed from the sensor foam pad before installation. If the foam is degraded or
no longer present, install a new graphene foam block. Clean all adhesive
residue that is left from the old foam. The foam is required for conducting the
temperature of the windshield to the sensor.

Use IPA wipes to clean the windshield
bracket and new relative humidity and temperature sensor foam pad mating surface area.
Allow the surface to dry for 1 minute.
CAUTIONMake sure all adhesive residue from the windshield is removed and the windshield is dry before installation. The foam pad will not stick if the windshield is wet. Align the located hole of the sensor with the plastic alignment pin on the windshield bracket.

Position the relative humidity and temperature sensor into the vehicle, install the
screws (x2) that attach sensor to the vehicle, and then connect the electrical
connector.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- PH00 screwdriver
- Install the rear view mirror beauty cover. See Rearview Mirror - Beauty Cover (Remove and Install).
- Update the vehicle software, if a new sensor was installed. See Software Reinstall - Touchscreen.
