Closure Panels - Assembly - Powergate Hood (Remove and Install)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. On the touchscreen, touch Controls > Suspension > Very High to set the vehicle ride height to Very High.
  3. On the touchscreen, touch Controls > Service > Jack Mode to enable Jack Mode.
  4. Open the powered frunk.
  5. Release the push clip and remove the bolts (x2) that attach the RH front wheel liner to the HV battery chinstrap.
    6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  6. Release the push clips (x14) that attach the RH front wheel liner to the fender flare carrier and fascia.
  7. Release the push clips (x6) that attach the RH front wheel liner to the body.

    Note
    Replace any push clips, if damaged.
  8. Remove the RH front wheel liner.
  9. Disconnect the powergate harness electrical connector and release the harness clips (x6).

    Release the electrical connector locking tab.
  10. Remove the powergate.
    18 Nm (13.3 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket

    x1 connector; x4 nuts

    Note
    Recommend assistance to hold the powergate while fasteners are removed. Lift up the powergate and away from the hinges.

Install

  1. Install the powergate.
    18 Nm (13.3 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket

    Note
    Recommend assistance to hold the powergate while fasteners are installed. Lift up the powergate and away from the hinges.

    Note
    Utilize the witness marks to align the powergate to the previous location.
  2. Connect the powergate harness electrical connector and fasten the harness clips (x6).

    Note
    Engage the electrical connector locking tab.
  3. Install the RH front wheel liner.
  4. Install the RH front wheel liner push nuts (x6).

    Replace any push nuts, if damaged.
  5. Install the RH front wheel liner to fender flare carrier and fascia push clips (x14).
  6. Install the bolts (x2) and the push clip that attach the RH front wheel liner to the HV battery chinstrap.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  7. Close the powered frunk.
  8. On the touchscreen, touch Controls > Service > Jack Mode to disable Jack Mode.
  9. On the touchscreen, touch Controls > Suspension > Standard to set the vehicle ride height to Standard.
  10. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
