Hoses - Hose, Manifold To Radiator (Remove and Install)

Remove

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  2. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  3. Place the vehicle into Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  4. Open the powered frunk.
  5. Remove the front aero shield. See Undertray - Front Aeroshield (Remove and Install).
  6. Place a coolant catcher underneath the RH front of the vehicle.
  7. Lower the vehicle until the tires are touching the ground.
  8. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
  9. Remove the frunk assembly. See Frunk Assembly (Remove and Install).
  10. Remove the spring clip that secures the manifold to radiator hose to the Supermanifold, disconnect the hose from the Supermanifold, and then plug the fittings.

    Note
    This will drain the coolant reservoir.
  11. Remove the spring clip that secures manifold to radiator hose to the radiator, disconnect the hose from the radiator, and then plug the fittings.

Install

  1. Connect the manifold to radiator hose to the radiator, and then install the spring clip that secures the hose to the radiator.

    Perform a push-pull-push test to ensure the hose is fully engaged.
  2. Connect the manifold to radiator hose to the Supermanifold, and then install the spring clip that secures the hose to the Supermanifold.

  3. Remove the coolant bottle cap.
  4. Inspect coolant level and fill to the "Max" level.
  5. On the vehicle touchscreen, navigate to Service mode > Thermal > Actions to access the thermal system routines.
  6. Tap Stop Thermal Fill Drain and allow the routine to complete.

    Make sure the routine is successful.
  7. Tap Start Coolant Air Purge, and then tap Run.

    CAUTION
    Wait until the coolant pumps stop running (audible noise). Routine "Passed" will appear, but the pumps will run for 10 minutes. If you start next another routine during this time, this routine will fail.

    Make sure vehicle is not in Drive. Putting the vehicle in Drive will stop this routine.

    Note
    Routine is still running despite the completed message. The speeds of the coolant pumps can be monitored in Garage under the "PT Thermal" tab, Idle speed = ~1500 RPM. Test will vary speeds from 3500-6500 RPM and actuate valves between SERIES and PARALLEL.

    Note
    If speeds hover at 7000 RPM, this indicates the pumps are air locked. Perform a vacuum fill. Continue to add coolant and purge until the coolant level reaches between the NOM and MAX lines on the bottle.
  8. Install the front aero shield. See Undertray - Front Aeroshield (Remove and Install).
  9. Lower the vehicle until the tires are touching the ground.
  10. Inspect the coolant level and top off as necessary.
  11. Install the coolant bottle cap.
  12. On the vehicle touchscreen, navigate to Thermal > Actions > Test Thermal Performance, tap Run, and allow the routine to complete.

    Note
    If the thermal test fails, follow Toolbox article #206000.
  13. Install the frunk assembly. See Frunk Assembly (Remove and Install).
  14. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
  15. Remove the vehicle from the lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  16. Exit Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  17. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
