NotePush LH B-pillar door trigger to release

Lower LH front window
-
Raise and support vehicle
NoteSet air suspension to "Jack Mode"

Connect to vehicle using Toolbox 3.0
NoteVehicle OBD II connection is integrated into drivers lower IP cover, Open Toolbox 3 website and establish connection to the vehicle, https://toolbox.teslamotors.com, Select connection status icon at top right corner, and select connect locally (icon will turn green when vehicle is connected)

Select "Actions" and search for "EPB"

Select PROC_EPBL_START-SERVICE-MODEvia Toolbox: (link), click 'Run', and allow routine to complete
NoteChock wheel if necessary, Select ‘X’ at top right of window to close once complete

Select ‘PROC_EPBR_START-SERVICE-MODEvia Toolbox: (link)’, click ‘Run’, and allow routine to complete
NoteHold down brake pedal while performing routine, Caution vehicle may roll freely, Select 'X' at top right of window to close once complete

Disconnect Toolbox 3 from vehicle and remove laptop

Open powered front trunk
NoteVia exterior switch or UI

Remove rear underhood apron
Note9x clips
-
Place shop rags underneath brake fluid reservoir
-
Clean area around brake fluid reservoir and remove brake reservoir cap
-
Remove LH rear wheel cap
Note1x cap, 8x clips, Use both hands to firmly pull wheel cap to release clips, Cap may remove with or without mounting ring attached

Remove RH rear wheel cap
Note1x cap, 8x clips, Use both hands to firmly pull wheel cap to release clips, Cap may remove with or without mounting ring attached

Loosen RH rear wheel nuts
Note6x nuts, 21mm, 205 Nm
-
Loosen LH rear wheel nuts
Note6x nuts, 21mm, 205 Nm

Raise vehicle fully
NoteSet to a comfortable working height, Lower to locks, Ensure locks engage on both sides to prevent tilting

Remove RH rear wheel
Note6x nuts, 21mm, 205 Nm

Remove LH rear wheel
Note6x nuts, 21mm, 205 Nm

Disconnect EPB harness connector from LH rear brake caliper
Note1x connector, Release locking tab
-
Release LH rear brake line from upper control arm
Note1x bolt, 10mm, 10 Nm
-
Remove bolt securing LH rear caliper to bracket
Note1x bolt, 14mm, 40 Nm
-
Rotate LH rear caliper upward
-
Remove LH rear caliper pad return springs
Note2x springs, Hold pads first then remove springs, Remove one at a time
-
Remove brake pads from LH rear caliper bracket
Note2x pads

Placeholder - Compress LH rear brake caliper piston

Clean LH rear brake caliper and brake pad guide surfaces
NoteUse nylon brush and brake cleaner as needed, Allow 1 minute dry time, Clean both sides of guides

Apply an even layer of Silaramic lubricant to LH rear brake pad contact points and pad guides
Note2x pads, 4x guides

Install brake pads onto LH rear caliper bracket
Note2x pads, Ensure pads seat correctly onto guides
-
Install LH rear caliper pad return springs
Note2x springs, Hold pads first then install springs, Install one at a time
-
Rotate LH rear caliper downward
NoteHold pads to ensure correct fitment
-
Install bolt securing LH rear caliper to bracket
Note1x bolt, 14mm, 40 Nm
-
Install LH rear brake line onto upper control arm
Note1x bolt, 10 mm, 10 Nm
-
Connect LH rear EPB harness
Note1x connector, Engage locking tab
-
Disconnect RH rear EPB harness
Note1x connector, Release locking tab
-
Release RH rear brake line from upper control arm
Note1x bolt, 10mm, 10 Nm
-
Remove bolt securing RH rear caliper to bracket
Note1x bolt, 14mm, 40 Nm
-
Rotate RH rear caliper upward
-
Remove RH rear caliper pad return springs
Note2x springs, Hold pads first then remove springs, Remove one at a time
-
Remove brake pads from RH rear caliper bracket
Note2x pads

Connect RH rear EPB harness
Note1x connector, Engage locking tab

Lower vehicle to access frunk area
NoteRaise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered, Keep front suspension components free of contacting ground and surrounding items

Check brake fluid level and top off reservoir if necessary
NoteIf level is above Max line, remove extra fluid

Install brake reservoir cap

Pump brake pedal a few times to ensure pedal feels normal
-
Remove shop rags from underneath brake fluid reservoir
-
Install RH rear wheel
Note6x nuts, 21mm, 205 Nm
-
Install LH rear wheel
Note6x nuts, 21mm, 205 Nm
-
Lower vehicle until tires are touching the ground
NoteRaise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered
-
Torque LH rear wheel nuts
Note6x nuts, 21mm, 205 Nm
-
Torque RH rear wheel nuts
Note6x nuts, 21mm, 205 Nm
-
Install RH rear wheel cap
Note1x cap, 8x clips, Partially secure wheel cap to wheel, While partially installed wheel cover can be rotated to align with tire design, When aligned press inward from center of cap then secure all clips to mounting ring

Install LH rear wheel cap
Note1x cap, 8x clips, Partially secure wheel cap to wheel, While partially installed wheel cover can be rotated to align with tire design, When aligned press inward from center of cap then secure all clips to mounting ring

Install rear underhood apron
Note9x clips, Adjust windshield seal as required

Close powered front trunk
NoteVia exterior switch or UI

Remove vehicle from lift
NoteLower rack arms fully and remove them from under vehicle, Remove air suspension from "Jack Mode"

Exit Service Mode
NoteVia UI > Service > Exit, Press and hold "Exit Service Mode" button

Raise LH front window
-
Close LH front door
-
Perform a road test and burnish brakes
NoteEnsure proper brake pedal feel and performance Add correction code 00040100 as needed
