Dash Support Frame - Supercarrier Assembly (Remove and Install)

Remove
- Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
- Move the LH front seat fully rearward.
- Open the RH front door and lower the RH front window.
- Move the RH front seat fully rearward.
- Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Disconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power.
- Remove the LH mid A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Positivet Interior Trim - A-Pillar Mid Trim - LH (Remove and Install).

Partially remove the LH side lower
A-pillar primary seal.
- Remove the LH lower A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Positivet Interior Trim - A-Pillar Lower Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
- Remove the footwell cover. See Dash Support Frame - Footwell Cover (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH center floor rail. See Passenger Compartment Carpet - Center Floor Rail - LH (Remove and Install).
- Remove the center floor trim. See Passenger Compartment Carpet - Center Floor Trim (Remove and Install).
- Remove the accelerator pedal side trim. See Passenger Compartment Carpet - Pedal - Side Trim (Remove and Install).
- Remove the accelerator pedal. See Accelerator Pedal (Remove and Install).
- Remove the RH center floor rail. See Passenger Compartment Carpet - Center Floor Rail - LH (Remove and Install).
- Remove the RH mid A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Positivet Interior Trim - A-Pillar Mid Trim - LH (Remove and Install).

Partially remove the RH front door
seal.
- Remove the RH lower A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Positivet Interior Trim - A-Pillar Lower Trim - LH (Remove and Install).

Fold back the RH carpet.
- Remove the center floor upper bracket. See Passenger Compartment Carpet - Center Floor Upper Bracket (Remove and Install).
- Remove the IP mid panel assembly. See Dash Panel - IP Mid Panel Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Remove the IP lower assembly. See Dash Panel - Instrument Panel Lower Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Remove the jumper footwell duct. See Passenger Ducting and Vents - Jumper Floor Duct (Remove and Install).
- Remove the IP glovebox assembly. See Dash Panel - IP Glovebox Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Remove the RH panel duct. See Passenger Ducting and Vents - Panel Duct, RH (Remove and Install).
- Remove the front passenger airbag. See Front Air Bags - MX - Passenger Airbag, NAR (Remove and Install).

Remove the bolts (x4) that attach the
instrument panel top pad to the vehicle.
NoteThe bolts are two different lengths.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 8 mm socket
- Remove the IP center shroud service panel. See Dash Support Frame - IP Center Shroud Service Panel (Remove and Install).
- Remove the center display assembly. See Touchscreen - Center Display Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Remove the front header trim. See Headliner Trim - Front Header Trim (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH upper A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Positivet Interior Trim - A-Pillar Upper Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH IP quarter panel. See Dash Panel - Quarter Panel Assembly - LH (Remove and Install).
- Remove the RH upper A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Positivet Interior Trim - A-Pillar Upper Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
- Remove the RH IP quarter panel. See Dash Panel - Quarter Panel Assembly - LH (Remove and Install).
- Remove the IP top pad assembly. See Dash Panel - Instrument Panel Top Pad Assembly (Remove and Install).

Release the connectors locks, and then
disconnect the instrument panel harness electrical connectors (x3) from the steering
column.

Release the clip that attaches the
instrument panel harness to the steering column.
-
Release the connector locks, and then
disconnect the steering feedback actuator harness electrical connectors (x2).
NoteRelease the lever lock, and then pivot towards center of vehicle to release.

Remove the nuts (x4) that attach the
steering column assembly to the vehicle, and then remove the assembly from the
vehicle.NotePlace the steering column assembly on a suitable work surface.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm socket
- Remove the IP aerobracket assembly. See Interior Ducting and Vents - IP Aerobracket Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH quarter glass demist duct. See Passenger Ducting and Vents - Quarter Glass Demist Duct, LH (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH outboard IP floor duct. See Interior Ducting and Vents - Instrument Panel Floor Duct Outboard - LH (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH side window demist duct. See Interior Ducting and Vents - Side Window Demist Duct - LH (Remove and Install).

Release the clips (x2) and disconnect
the electrical connector that attach the LH panel duct to the vehicle, and then remove
the duct from the vehicle.

Release the clips (x7) that attach the
LH section of the IP harness to the Supercarrier.
-
Release the clips (x5) that attach the
IP harness to the center of the super carrier.
-
Disconnect the electrical connector on
the RH section of the IP harness, and then release the clips (x6) that attach the RH
section of the harness to the Supercarrier.
-
Release the clip that attaches the RH
quarter glass demist duct to vehicle, and then remove the duct from the vehicle.
-
Remove the clips (x2) that attach the
passenger demist duct assembly to the vehicle, and then remove the duct from the
vehicle.
-
Loosen the Supercarrier assembly upper
bolts (x2).NoteThe bolts do not need to be removed.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm socket

Remove the bolts (x5) that attach the
Supercarrier assembly to the steering column bracket.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
-
Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the
Supercarrier to the downleg brackets.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm socket
-
Remove the bolts (x5) that attach the
HVAC distributor to the Supercarrier assembly.NotePull the Supercarrier assembly inward to allow the HVAC to separate and pass the IP harness through.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
-
Remove the Supercarrier LH and RH side
bolts (x4).Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm socket
-
With assistance, remove the
Supercarrier assembly from the vehicle.
CAUTIONBe careful of any missed clips or connectors.
Install
-
With assistance, position the
Supercarrier assembly into the vehicle.
CAUTIONMake sure no harnesses are being pinched during installation.

Install the bolts (x5) that attach the
Supercarrier assembly to the steering column bracket.NoteThis will help with alignment to the chassis.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket

Install the bolts (x5) that attach the
HVAC distributor to the supercarrier assembly.NoteMake sure the harness is passed through the upper beam.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket

Install the Supercarrier assembly side
bolts (x4).Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm socket
-
Install the bolts (x2) that attach the Supercarrier to the downleg brackets.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm socket
-
Install the Supercarrier assembly
upper bolts (x2).NoteUse an airbag to elevate the cowl if needed.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm socket
-
Connect the IP harness electrical
connector on the passenger side, and then secure the harness clips (x2).
-
Position the passenger demist duct
into the vehicle, and then install the clips (x2) that attach the duct to the
vehicle.
-
Position the RH quarter glass demist duct into vehicle, and then install the clip
that attaches the duct to the vehicle.
- Install the RH IP quarter panel. See Dash Panel - Quarter Panel Assembly - LH (Remove and Install).

Install the clips (x5) that attach the IP harness to the center of the super
carrier.
-
Install the clips (x7) that attach the LH section of the IP harness to the
Supercarrier.
-
Connect the electrical connector on the RH section of the IP harness, and then
install the clips (x6) that attach the RH section of the harness to the
Supercarrier.
-
Position the LH panel duct to the
vehicle, and then secure the clips (x2) and connect the electrical connector that attach
the duct to the vehicle.
-
Position the LH side window demist
duct into the vehicle, and then install the clips (x2) that attach the duct to the
vehicle.
NoteMake sure the duct is seated over the HVAC case correctly to avoid circulation problems.NoteRefer to the images for install clarification.

Position the LH outboard IP floor duct
into the vehicle, and then install the clips (x3) that attach the duct to the
vehicle.
NoteEnsure duct is seated over the LH instrument panel floor duct inboard correctly to avoid circulation problems.NoteRefer to the images for install clarification.

Install the clips (x2) that attach the
LH side window demist duct to the vehicle.
-
Position the LH quarter glass demist
duct into the vehicle, and then secure the clip that attaches the duct to the
vehicle.
NoteMake sure the duct is seated correctly.
-
Position the steering column assembly
into the vehicle, and then install the nuts (x4) that attach the assembly to the
vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm socket
-
Connect the steering feedback actuator
harness electrical connectors (x2), and then engage the connector locks.
-
Connect the instrument panel harness
electrical connectors (x3) to the steering column, and then engage the connector
locks.
-
Install the clip that attaches the
instrument panel harness to the steering column.
-
Position the IP aerobracket assembly
into the vehicle, and then secure the tabs (x14) and install the screws (x3) that attach
the assembly to the vehicle.CAUTIONBe careful not to scratch the interior trim when installing the assembly into the vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T20 socket

Connect the driver side IP airwave
module electrical connectors (x2). Repeat this step for the passenger side.
-
Connect the IP aerobracket assembly
light strip electrical connectors (x2).
- Install the LH IP quarter panel. See Dash Panel - Quarter Panel Assembly - LH (Remove and Install).
-
Position the instrument panel top pad
into the vehicle, and then secure the clips (x12) that attach the top pad to the
vehicle.
NoteReplace any missing or damaged clips.
- Install the LH and RH upper A-pillar trims. See A-B-C Positivet Interior Trim - A-Pillar Upper Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
- Install the front header trim. See Headliner Trim - Front Header Trim (Remove and Install).

Install the bolts (x4) that attach the
instrument panel top pad to the vehicle.NoteThe longer bolts are located in rearmost positions.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 8 mm socket
- Install the front passenger airbag. See Front Air Bags - MX - Passenger Airbag, NAR (Remove and Install).

Position the RH airwave duct into the
vehicle, connect the electrical connector, and then install the clips (x2) that attach
the duct to the vehicle.
- Install the glovebox assembly. See Dash Panel - IP Glovebox Assembly (Remove and Install).
-
Position the center floor upper
bracket into the vehicle, and then install the edge clips (x2), retaining clips (x2),
and push clips (x2) that attach the bracket to the vehicle.
-
Unfold the RH front cabin carpet into
position.
-
Position the jumper floor duct to the
HVAC distribution, and then install the clip that attaches the floor duct to the
vehicle.
- Install the IP lower assembly. See Dash Panel - Instrument Panel Lower Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Install the mid instrument panel assembly. See Dash Panel - IP Mid Panel Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Install the center floor trim. See Passenger Compartment Carpet - Center Floor Trim (Remove and Install).
- Install the RH center floor rail. See Passenger Compartment Carpet - Center Floor Rail - LH (Remove and Install).
- Install the RH lower A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Positivet Interior Trim - A-Pillar Lower Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
- Install the RH mid A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Positivet Interior Trim - A-Pillar Mid Trim - LH (Remove and Install).

Reposition the RH front door
seal.

Unfold the LH front cabin carpet into
position.
- Install the accelerator pedal. See Accelerator Pedal (Remove and Install).
- Install the accelerator pedal side trim. See Passenger Compartment Carpet - Pedal - Side Trim (Remove and Install).
- Install the LH center floor rail. See Passenger Compartment Carpet - Center Floor Rail - LH (Remove and Install).
- Install the footwell cover. See Dash Support Frame - Footwell Cover (Remove and Install).
- Install the LH lower A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Positivet Interior Trim - A-Pillar Lower Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
- Install the LH mid A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Positivet Interior Trim - A-Pillar Mid Trim - LH (Remove and Install).

Secure the LH side lower A-pillar
primary seal.
-
Position the center display assembly
to the instrument panel, connect the center display electrical connector and engage the
connector lock, and then install the bolts (x2) that attach the center display to the
vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
- Install the IP center shroud service panel. See Dash Support Frame - IP Center Shroud Service Panel (Remove and Install).
- Reconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power.
- Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Place the vehicle into Service Mode. See Service Mode.
- Unlock the vehicle Gateway. See Gateway (Unlock).
- On the vehicle touchscreen, navigate to Service Mode Plus > Chassis > Thermal.

Tap Test Thermal Performance,
tap Run, and allow
the routine to complete.

- Exit Service Mode. See Service Mode.
- Restore the RH front seat back to its original position.
- Open the RH front door and lower the RH front window.
- Restore the LH front seat back to its original position.
- Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
