Warning
Cybertruck electronics are powered by a 48V "mid voltage" or "MV" architecture that is designed to improve efficiency. Servicing MV components requires extra knowledge and care in order to avoid personal and/or vehicular harm. Read and understand MV precautions in Electrical Precautions and make sure any required MV-related training courses have been completed, as applicable.

Remove

  1. Open the RH front door and lower the RH front window.
  2. Move the RH front seat fully rearward.
  3. Remove the footwell cover. See Dash Support Frame - Footwell Cover (Remove and Install).
  4. Remove the RH center floor rail. See Passenger Compartment Carpet - Center Floor Rail - LH (Remove and Install).
  5. Fold back the RH carpet.
  6. Release the clip that attaches the RH IP floor duct to the vehicle, and then remove the floor duct from the vehicle.
  7. Open the powered frunk.
  8. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
  9. Disconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power.
  10. Slowly loosen the bolts (x2) that secures the locking cover to the RH controller, making sure that the cover separates from the controller squarely, and does not bind.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8 mm socket

    Note
Each connector has two tabs, one on the top right side and one on the left lower side of the connector head. Both tabs must be pressed inwards for the connector head to clear the locking cover and release successfully.
Tip: Use a pocket screwdriver to press one of the connector tabs while pressing the other tab by hand.
  12. Release the red locking tab, and then disconnect the SFA electrical connector from the controller.
  13. Release the controller harness clips (x7).
  14. Remove the nuts (x4) that attach the controller onto the bulkhead.
    14 Nm (10.3 lbs-ft)
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  15. Tilt the controller away from the bulkhead, release the connector locks and disconnect the electrical connectors (x2), and then remove the controller from the bulkhead.

    Note
Perform a push-pull-push test to ensure the electrical connector seal is seated.
  2. Install the nuts (x4) that attach the controller to the bulkhead.
    14 Nm (10.3 lbs-ft)
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  3. Secure the harness clips (x7) onto the controller.
  4. Connect the SFA electrical connector onto the controller, and then secure the red locking tab.
  5. Connect the controller electrical connectors (x7).
