Electromechanical Brake Booster - Brake Booster Assembly (Remove and Install)

Remove
- Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
- Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
- Move the LH front seat fully rearward.
- Open the RH front door and lower the RH front window.
- Move the RH front seat fully rearward.
- Remove the footwell cover. See Dash Support Frame - Footwell Cover (Remove and Install).
- Place the vehicle into Service Mode. See Service Mode.
- Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Remove the frunk assembly. See Frunk Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Disconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power.
- Remove all 4 wheel assemblies. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Remove the mid aero shield. See Undertray - Mid Aeroshield (Remove and Install).
- Perform Vehicle HV Disablement procedure. See Vehicle HV Disablement Procedure.
- Lower the vehicle to a comfortable working height.
- Remove the brake fluid reservoir. See Electromechanical Brake Booster - Brake Remote Reservoir (Remove and Install).

Release the connector lock, and then
disconnect the A/C compressor logic electrical connector.
CAUTIONDo not push down on the red tab. Pull the tab to disengage the lock, and the pull it again to release the electrical connector.

Release the connector lock, and then
disconnect the A/C Compressor HV harness electrical connector from the A/C
Compressor.
NotePull the red locking tab away from the black lever, and then slide the black lever upwards.

Remove the bolt that attaches the A/C
compressor ground strap to the vehicle, and then release the harness edge clip once the
ground strap is free.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm deep socket (magnetic)

With assistance, remove the bolts (x3)
that attach the A/C compressor to the megabeam, and then carefully maneuver the A/C
compressor towards the front of the vehicle and under the megabeam.NotePut a fender cover on the fan housing and gently place the A/C compressor assembly down.NoteSupport the A/C compressor while removing the bolts.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm deep socket

Release the connector locks, and then
disconnect the brake booster electrical connectors (x3).

Disconnect the brake booster plumbing
quick release fitting (x1) and flare fittings (x2).NotePlace absorbent pads as required to catch brake fluid.NoteRelease the remote reservoir hose by pushing the yellow tab inwards.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 14 mm 6-point crowfoot flare nut

Remove the nuts (x3) and clevis pin
that attach the brake booster to the brake pedal assembly.NoteRemove the cotter pin, and then remove the clevis pin.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm socket

Pull the brake booster straight
outwards to release it from the vehicle.
Install

Position the brake booster into the
vehicle, align the studs, and then push the brake booster flush against the
bulkhead.

Position the brake booster to the brake pedal assembly, and then install the nuts
(x3) and clevis pin that attach the brake booster to the brake pedal assembly.NoteInstall the clevis pin, and then install the cotter pin.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm socket

Connect the brake booster plumbing
quick release fitting (x1) and flare fittings (x2).NotePlace absorbent pads as required to catch brake fluid.NotePerform a push-pull-push test to ensure the hose is secured.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 14 mm 6-point crowfoot flare nut

Connect the brake booster electrical
connectors (x3) and engage the connector locks.

With assistance and while supporting
the A/C compressor, install the bolts (x3) that attach the compressor to the
megabeam.NoteStart bolts by hand first, and then use power tools.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm deep socket

Connect the A/C Compressor HV harness
to the A/C Compressor, and then secure the connector lock.
NoteSlide the black lever down, and then push the red lock inwards.CAUTIONMake sure the red locking tab is pushed all the way in. The red locking tab should sit flush with the black lever.

Install the A/C compressor ground
strap bolt.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm deep socket (magnetic)

Connect the A/C compressor logic
electrical connector, and then secure the connector lock.
- Install the brake fluid reservoir. See Electromechanical Brake Booster - Brake Remote Reservoir (Remove and Install).
- Reconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power.
- Reinstall the vehicle software. See Software Reinstall - Touchscreen.
- Install the footwell cover. See Dash Support Frame - Footwell Cover (Remove and Install).
- Restore the RH front seat back to its original position.
- Raise the RH front window and close the RH front door.
- Restore the LH front seat back to its original position.
- Bleed the entire brake system manually. See Brake Fluid Bleed - One Caliper.
- Bleed the entire brake system using Toolbox. See Brake Fluid Bleed - One Caliper.
- Exit Service Mode. See Service Mode.
- Install the frunk assembly. See Frunk Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Install all wheel assemblies. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
