Warning
Cybertruck electronics are powered by a 48V "mid voltage" or "MV" architecture that is designed to improve efficiency. Servicing MV components requires extra knowledge and care in order to avoid personal and/or vehicular harm. Read and understand MV precautions in Electrical Precautions and make sure any required MV-related training courses have been completed, as applicable.

Warning
DO NOT SKIP the steps to remove the tonneau slats. Work on or around the ancillary bay REQUIRES the removal of the tonneau slats. Failure to remove the tonneau slats while working on or around the ancillary bay will result in conditions that may cause personal injury.

Install

  1. Lift the device cluster header seal to access the HVIL electrical connector, release the clip that attaches the connector to the vehicle, and then disconnect the electrical connector.
  2. Slide the device cluster header off the DC bus links.
  3. Disconnect the device cluster harness yellow electrical connector.
  4. Measure 129mm from the base of the device cluster harness yellow electrical connector, and then mark the harness with a marker.
  5. Align the top of the ferrite core at the marked location on the device cluster harness, and then install the ferrite core.
  6. Wrap the ferrite core with a single piece of felt tape as described below.
    • 2 wraps at the base of the ferrite core
    • 5-7 wraps over the ferrite core body
    • 2 wraps at the top of the ferrite core
  7. Connect the DCA harness yellow electrical connector.
  8. Position the DC header onto the device cluster assembly.
  9. Connect the HVIL electrical connector, and then secure the clip that attaches the connector body to the device cluster assembly.
