Interior Ducting and Vents - IP Aerobracket Assembly (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the front doors and lower the front windows.
  2. Remove the LH mid A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Post Interior Trim - A-Pillar Mid Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
  3. Remove the LH lower A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Post Interior Trim - A-Pillar Lower Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
  4. Remove the footwell cover. See Dash Support Frame - Footwell Cover (Remove and Install).
  5. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the RH side of the vehicle.
  6. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
  7. Disconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power.
  8. Remove the mid instrument panel assembly. See Dash Panel - IP Mid Panel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  9. Remove the lower instrument panel assembly. See Dash Panel - Instrument Panel Lower Assembly (Remove and Install).
  10. Remove the glovebox assembly. See Dash Panel - IP Glovebox Assembly (Remove and Install).
  11. Remove the RH air wave duct. See Passenger Ducting and Vents - Panel Duct, RH (Remove and Install).
  12. Remove the front passenger airbag. See Front Air Bags - MX - Passenger Airbag, NAR (Remove and Install).
  13. Remove the instrument panel top pad assembly. See Dash Panel - Instrument Panel Top Pad Assembly (Remove and Install).
  14. Remove the clip that attaches the driver demist duct assembly to the IP aerobracket assembly.
  15. Disconnect the driver side IP airwave module electrical connectors (x2).
  16. Disconnect the IP aerobracket assembly light strip electrical connectors (x2).
  17. Repeat steps 14 and 15 for the RH side of the aerobracket assembly.
  18. Remove the screws (x3) that attach the IP aerobracket assembly to the vehicle, and then release the tabs (x14) to remove the assembly from the vehicle.
    2.3 Nm (1.7 lbs-ft)

    CAUTION
    Be careful not to scratch the interior trim during removal.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 bit

Install

  1. Position the IP aerobracket assembly into the vehicle, engage the tabs (x14) that attach the assembly to the vehicle, and then install the screws (x3).
    2.3 Nm (1.7 lbs-ft)

    CAUTION
    Be careful not to scratch the interior trim during installation.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 bit
  2. Connect the passenger side IP airwave module electrical connectors (x2).

  3. Install the clip that attaches the passenger demist duct assembly to the IP aerobracket assembly.

  4. Connect the IP aerobracket assembly light strip electrical connectors (x2).
  5. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the LH side of the aerobracket assembly.
  6. Install the instrument panel top pad assembly. See Dash Panel - Instrument Panel Top Pad Assembly (Remove and Install).
  7. Install the LH and RH upper A-pillar trims. See A-B-C Post Interior Trim - A-Pillar Upper Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
  8. Install the front header trim. See Headliner Trim - Front Header Trim (Remove and Install).
  9. Install the bolts (x4) that attach the instrument panel top pad to the vehicle.
    7 Nm (5.2 lbs-ft)

    The longer bolts are located in rearmost positions.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8 mm socket
  10. Install the front passenger airbag. See Front Air Bags - MX - Passenger Airbag, NAR (Remove and Install).
  11. Install the RH air wave duct. See Passenger Ducting and Vents - Panel Duct, RH (Remove and Install).
  12. Install the glovebox assembly. See Dash Panel - IP Glovebox Assembly (Remove and Install).
  13. Install the lower instrument panel assembly. See Dash Panel - Instrument Panel Lower Assembly (Remove and Install).
  14. Install the mid instrument panel assembly. See Dash Panel - IP Mid Panel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  15. Reconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power.
  16. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Trim - Rear Apron Assembly (Remove and Install).
  17. Install the RH lower A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Post Interior Trim - A-Pillar Lower Trim - LH (Remove and Install)
  18. Install the RH mid A-pillar trim. See A-B-C Post Interior Trim - A-Pillar Mid Trim - LH (Remove and Install).
  19. Install the footwell cover. See Dash Support Frame - Footwell Cover (Remove and Install).
  20. Repeat steps 17 and 18 for the LH side of the vehicle.
  21. Open the RH front door and lower the RH front window.
  22. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  23. In Toolbox, click the Actions tab, and then search for "RGB addressing dash".
  24. Click TEST-SELF_VCRIGHT_X_DASH-RGB-SELF-ADDRESSINGvia Toolbox: (link), click Run and allow the routine to complete.
  25. Disconnect Toolbox and remove the laptop from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  26. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
