Aerobracket Assembly - Instrument Panel (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the front doors and lower the front windows.
  2. Remove the LH mid A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Mid - LH (Remove and Install).
  3. Remove the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Install).
  4. Remove the footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell (Remove and Install).
  5. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the RH side of the vehicle.
  6. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Install).
  7. Disconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power (Modify).
  8. Remove the mid instrument panel assembly. See Mid Panel Assembly - Instrument Panel (Remove and Install).
  9. Remove the lower instrument panel assembly. See Lower Assembly - Instrument Panel (Remove and Install).
  10. Remove the glovebox assembly. See Glovebox Assembly (Remove and Install).
  11. Remove the RH air wave duct. See Passenger Ducting and Vents - Panel Duct, RH (Remove and Install).
  12. Remove the front passenger airbag. See Front Air Bags - MX - Passenger Airbag, NAR (Remove and Install).
  13. Remove the instrument panel top pad assembly. See Top Pad Assembly - Instrument Panel (Remove and Install).
  14. Remove the clip that attaches the driver demist duct assembly to the IP aerobracket assembly.
  15. Disconnect the driver side IP airwave module electrical connectors (x2).
  16. Disconnect the IP aerobracket assembly light strip electrical connectors (x2).
  17. Repeat steps 14 and 15 for the RH side of the aerobracket assembly.
  18. Remove the screws (x3) that attach the IP aerobracket assembly to the vehicle, and then release the tabs (x14) to remove the assembly from the vehicle.
    2.3 Nm (1.7 lbs-ft)

    Be careful not to scratch the interior trim during removal.

Install

  1. Position the IP aerobracket assembly into the vehicle, engage the tabs (x14) that attach the assembly to the vehicle, and then install the screws (x3).
    2.3 Nm (1.7 lbs-ft)

    Be careful not to scratch the interior trim during installation.

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 bit
  2. Connect the passenger side IP airwave module electrical connectors (x2).

  3. Install the clip that attaches the passenger demist duct assembly to the IP aerobracket assembly.

  4. Connect the IP aerobracket assembly light strip electrical connectors (x2).
  5. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the LH side of the aerobracket assembly.
  6. Position the instrument panel top pad into the vehicle, and then secure the clips (x12) that attach the top pad to the vehicle.

    Replace any missing or damaged clips.
  7. Install the LH and RH upper A-pillar trims. See Trim - A-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Install).
  8. Install the front header trim. See Trim - Header - Front (Remove and Install).
  9. Install the instrument panel top pad assembly. See Top Pad Assembly - Instrument Panel (Remove and Install).
  10. Install the front passenger airbag. See Front Air Bags - MX - Passenger Airbag, NAR (Remove and Install).
  11. Install the RH air wave duct. See Passenger Ducting and Vents - Panel Duct, RH (Remove and Install).
  12. Install the glovebox assembly. See Glovebox Assembly (Remove and Install).
  13. Install the lower instrument panel assembly. See Lower Assembly - Instrument Panel (Remove and Install).
  14. Install the mid instrument panel assembly. See Mid Panel Assembly - Instrument Panel (Remove and Install).
  15. Reconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power (Modify).
  16. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Install).
  17. Install the RH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Install)
  18. Install the RH mid A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Mid - LH (Remove and Install).
  19. Install the footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell (Remove and Install).
  20. Repeat steps 17 and 18 for the LH side of the vehicle.
  21. Raise the RH front window and close the RH front door.
  22. Place the vehicle into Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  23. Unlock the vehicle Gateway. See Gateway (Unlock).
  24. On the vehicle touchscreen, navigate to Service > Mid Voltage > Interior Lighting > ddress RGB Lights, tap Run, and allow the routine to complete.

    Vehicle software version must be 2024.44 or newer.
  25. Exit Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  26. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
