Harness - Door - Front - LH (Remove and Install)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door.
  2. Place the vehicle in Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  3. Remove the LH front door trim. See Panel - Door Trim - Front - LH (Remove and Install).
  4. Use a pocket screwdriver to manually latch the LH front door.
  5. Raise the LH front window.
  6. Remove the LH front inner waist belt seal. See Waist Belt Seal - Outer - Front Door - LH (Remove and Install).
  7. Remove the LH front door glass. See Moving Glass - Door - Front - LH (Remove and Install).
  8. Disconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power (Modify).
  9. Remove the LH front door closeout panel. See Closeout Panel - Front Door - LH (Remove and Install).

    Note
    It is not necessary to remove the window regulator from the closeout panel assembly.
  10. Release the grommet from the LH front door harness connector at the A-pillar, and pull back to expose the connector and harness wires.
  11. Apply gentle tension to the harness wires, and use a pick to press down on the inner tang in the top half of the harness connector.
  12. Continue to apply gentle tension to the harness wires, and use the pick to press up on the inner tang in the bottom half of the harness connector, and then disconnect the harness from the A-pillar connector.
  13. Release the grommet and fir tree clips (x5) that attach the LH front door harness to the door interior, and then move the harness out through the door opening.

Install

  1. Move the LH front door harness in through the door opening, and then fasten the grommet and fir tree clips (x5) that attach the harness to the door interior.

    Note
    Seat the grommet and verify it is fully installed. Use a plastic trim tool to push grommet into place if required
  2. Fasten the grommet to the LH front door harness connector, and then firmly press the harness to the B-pillar connector.

    Perform a Push-Pull-Push check of the connector.
  3. Install the LH front closeout panel. See Closeout Panel - Front Door - LH (Remove and Install)
  4. Install the LH front door glass. See Moving Glass - Door - Front - LH (Remove and Install).
  5. Reconnect MV power. See Disconnect MV Power (Modify).
  6. Pull the manual release cable away from the vehicle to manually release the latch.
  7. Close the LH front door.
  8. Check and adjust the gap and flushness.

    Note
    Connect external window switch to help with adjustment.
  9. Open the LH front door.
  10. Install the LH front inner waist belt seal. See Waist Belt Seal - Outer - Front Door - LH (Remove and Install).
  11. Install the LH front door trim. See Panel - Door Trim - Front - LH (Remove and Install).
  12. Calibrate the LH front window.

    Note
    Press and hold down the selected window for 15 seconds. Raise the window and hold for 15 seconds. Test the window by hard pressing to see if the auto raise function functions properly.
  13. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
