Impact Sensor - B-Pillar - LH (Remove and Install)

CAUTION
Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) components can be hazardous if not serviced and handled correctly. See Airbag and Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) Precautions
CAUTION
In the event of an airbag or seatbelt pretensioner deployment, certain components must be replaced, and other components must be inspected for damage. Refer to the Collision Repair Manual for a specific list of items that must be inspected and replaced.

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Open the LH rear door and lower the LH rear window.
  3. Place the vehicle into Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  4. Disconnect MV power. See Mid-Voltage Power (Disconnect and Connect) (Modify).
  5. Remove the lower B-pillar trim. See Trim - B-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Install).
  6. Remove the bolt that attaches the B-pillar impact sensor to the B-pillar, disconnect the electrical connector, and then remove the sensor from the vehicle.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 socket

Install

  1. Position the B-pillar impact sensor to the B-pillar, connect the electrical connector, and then install the bolt that attaches the sensor to the vehicle.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 socket
  2. Install the lower B-pillar trim. See Trim - B-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Install).
  3. Reconnect MV power. See Mid-Voltage Power (Disconnect and Connect) (Modify).
  4. Install the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Install).
  5. Install the LH mid A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Mid - LH (Remove and Install).
  6. Exit Service Mode. See Service Mode.
