Cabin HVAC - Harness - Megavac, Center (Remove and Install)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  3. Remove the wet side HVAC. See Cabin HVAC - Wet Side HVAC (Remove and Install).
  4. Remove the screws (x3) that attach the cowl defrost duct to the vehicle, and then remove the duct from the vehicle.
    1 Nm (.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 bit
  5. Release the harness clips (x7) and grommet, disconnect the electrical connectors (x2), and then partially release the Megavac harness from the assembly.

    Note
    Lift the connector cover for access.
  6. Release the clips (x3) and grommet that attach the Megavac harness to the blower motor.
  7. Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the Megavac harness from the motor blower.
  8. Remove the screws (x3) that attach the Megavac harness to the blower motor, and then release the harness from the blower motor.
    1 Nm (.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 bit
  9. Remove the screws (x9) that attach the blower motor and evaporator housing to the blower motor assembly, and then remove the housing from the assembly.
    1 Nm (.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 bit
  10. Release the grommet and remove the screws (x8) that attach the intake actuator cover to the intake actuator assembly, and then release the cover from the assembly.
    1 Nm (.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 bit
  11. Release the harness clip, disconnect the Megavac harness electrical connectors (x3), and then pull the harness through the actuator cover to remove it from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Position the Megavac harness into the vehicle, install the harness clip, and then connect the electrical connectors (x3),

    Pull the harness through the actuator cover.
  2. Position the intake actuator cover to the intake actuator assembly, and then install the grommet and screws (x8) that attach the cover to the assembly.
    1 Nm (.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 bit
  3. Position the blower motor and evaporator housing to the blower motor assembly, and then install the screws (x9) that attach the housing to the assembly.
    1 Nm (.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 bit
  4. Position the Megavac harness to the blower motor, and then install the screws (x3) that attach the harness to the blower motor assembly.
    1 Nm (.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 bit
  5. Install the clips (x3) and grommet that attach the Megavac harness to the blower motor.
  6. Connect the Megavac harness to the motor blower, and then engage the connector lock.
  7. Install the harness clips (x7) and grommet, and then connect the electrical connectors (x2).

  8. Position the cowl defrost duct into the vehicle, and then install the screws (x3) that attach the duct to the vehicle.
    1 Nm (.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 bit
  9. Install the wet side HVAC. See Cabin HVAC - Wet Side HVAC (Remove and Install).
