Door Glass - Moving Glass - Rear LH (Remove and Install)

CAUTION
New glass components (windshield, roof, door, and fixed glass) must be inspected before installation to meet Tesla’s internal standards of quality. Perform the inspection described in Pre-Installation Glass Inspection before beginning this procedure.
Remove
- Open the LH rear door and lower the LH rear window.
- Remove the LH rear door beltline assembly. See Rear Door Trim Pad - Beltline Assembly - LH (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH rear door inner waist belt seal. See Front and Rear Door Seals - Inner Waist Belt Seal, Rear Door, LH (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH rear door trim. See Rear Door Trim Pad - Door Trim Rear - LH (Remove and Install).

Remove the LH rear door grommets (x4).

Connect an external window switch.
- Raise the LH rear window.

With the help of an assistant, hold the door glass in position before continuing to the next step.
WarningThe clamps do not hold the entire regulator base. Failure to support the glass while removing the fasteners in the next step may result in the glass slipping off the regulator.

With the assistant supporting the glass, remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH rear door glass to the vehicle, and then remove the glass from the vehicle.
WarningMake sure to support the glass while removing the fasteners. The clamps do not hold the entire base of the regulator.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
Install

Position the LH rear door glass into the vehicle, and then install and hand tighten the bolts (x2) that attach the glass to the vehicle.
CAUTIONBe careful of the glass slipping off the mount.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket

Pull the emergency cable to manually unlatch the LH rear door.
- Close the LH rear door.

Check and adjust gap and flushness.
NoteConnect an external window switch to help with adjustment.
- Open the LH rear door.

Torque the fasteners for window regulator, and then install the grommets (x2).Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
- Disconnect the external window switch.
- Install the LH rear door inner waist belt seal. See Front and Rear Door Seals - Inner Waist Belt Seal, Rear Door, LH (Remove and Install).
- Install the LH rear door trim. See Rear Door Trim Pad - Door Trim Rear - LH (Remove and Install).
