Remove

  1. Remove the tailgate inner cover. See Cover - Inner - Tailgate (Remove and Install).
  2. Remove the tailgate lamp. See Lamp - Tailgate (Remove and Install).
  3. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the rear camera bracket assembly to the vehicle, and then remove the bracket from the vehicle.
    0.7 Nm (6 lbs-in)

  4. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the rear camera to the bracket, and then remove the camera from the bracket.

Install

  1. Position the rear camera onto the bracket, and then install the bolts (x2) that attach the camera to the bracket.

  2. Position the rear camera bracket assembly to the vehicle, and then install the bolts (x2) that attach the bracket to the vehicle.

  3. Install the tailgate lamp. See Lamp - Tailgate (Remove and Install).
  4. Install the tailgate inner cover. See Cover - Inner - Tailgate (Remove and Install).
  5. Connect a laptop with Toolbox to the vehicle to unlock the vehicle gateway and enable Service Mode. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  6. On the vehicle touchscreen, navigate to Driver Assist > Cameras > Reset DAS to clear camera calibration.
  7. HW4 cameras only: Run the camera connection test to update the new camera's firmware.

    DAS Cameras are not CAN modules and cannot be updated via firmware reinstall or "Part Replacement Deploy".

      Note
      Make sure to update firmware on all cameras that were replaced. The forward facing camera assemblies consist of individual cameras that must be updated separately.

      If 2 versions of the same routine are displayed, Run the routine that contains "-SCRIPT" in the "Path" field.
    3. In the Camera Connection Test prompt, change the "Timeout" to "100", and then Run the routine.

      This routine will update the camera's firmware and then confirm that the camera is connected.
  8. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
