Remove

  1. Open the LH doors and lower the LH windows.
  2. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Install).
  3. Remove the front underhood storage unit. See Frunk Assembly (Remove and Install).
  4. Remove the LH underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - LH (Remove and Install).
  5. Remove and discard the nut that attaches the front of the LH cantrail assembly to the vehicle.
    4 Nm (2.9 lbs-ft)

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8 mm socket
  6. Remove the LH B-pillar applique closeout. See Closeout - Applique - B-Pillar - LH (Remove and Install).
  7. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH B-pillar applique to the B-pillar.
    6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)

    • 10 mm socket
  8. Release the clips that attach the LH B-pillar applique to the vehicle, and then allow the applique to rest against the body.

    Gently pry outwards from the bottom to release the retaining clip.

    The applique does not need to be fully removed from the vehicle.
  9. Remove the LH sail baffle applique. See Applique - Sail Baffle - LH (Remove and Install).
  10. Remove the LH C-pillar applique closeout. See Closeout - Applique - C-Pillar - LH (Remove and Install).
  11. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH C-pillar applique to the C-pillar.
    6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)

  12. Release the clips (x2) that attach the LH C-pillar applique to the C-pillar, and then allow the applique to rest against the body.

    Note
    Pull the bottom of the pillar applique away from the C-pillar to release the clips, and then pull the applique downward to release it from the C-pillar.

    Note
    The applique does not need to be fully removed.
  13. Remove the LH header seal. See Seal - Header - LH (Remove and Install).
  14. Release the rearmost clips (x2) that attach the rear section of the LH roof applique to the vehicle.
  15. If present, remove and discard the nut that secures the cantrail stud.

  16. Remove the screws (x8) that attach the LH cantrail to the vehicle.
    2.5 Nm (1.8 lbs-ft)

  17. With assistance, release the clips that attach the LH cantrail to the vehicle, and then remove the cantrail from the vehicle.

    The number of clips may vary (x7-x8) depending on vehicle build date.

    Place the cantrail on a padded surface.
  18. If present, remove the rearmost clip from the LH cantrail assembly.

Install

  1. If not present, apply a butyl patch (PN: 1032246-00-B) onto the LH roof rail body at the highlighted locations where holes are present. Refer to images for locations and butyl application alignment.

    CAUTION
    Do not apply the patch(es) below the lower edge of the roof rail. Applying a butyl patch below the lower edge of the roof rail will interfere with the primary seal seating. See image for reference.

    Note
    Apply a butyl patch to locations 4-6 (in image) only if hole is present.

    Use a roller to wet out the patch after install.

  2. Replace all remaining clips (x7, PN: 1756057-00-B) on the cantrail assembly.
  3. With assistance, position the LH cantrail onto the vehicle, and then engage the clips (x7) that attach the cantrail to the vehicle.
  4. Install the screws (x8) that attach the LH cantrail to the vehicle.
    2.5 Nm (1.8 lbs-ft)

    • Torx T20 socket
  5. Install a new nut (2081194-99-A) that secures the cantrail stud, and then tighten the nut until the panel is flush.

    CAUTION
    Install a new nut even if the vehicle did not previously have a nut installed.

    Twist the rear section of the cantrail outwards to allow access to the stud.

    Check gap and flush and adjust the trim, as needed. Refer to CVIS for specifications.

  6. Secure the rearmost clips (x2) that attach the rear section of the LH roof applique to the vehicle.
  7. Install the LH header seal. See Seal - Header - LH (Remove and Install).
  8. Install the LH C-Pillar applique, C-Pillar applique closeout, and sail baffle applique. See Applique - C-Pillar - LH (Remove and Install).
  9. Install the LH B-pillar applique and B-pillar applique closeout. See Applique - B-Pillar - LH (Remove and Install).
  10. Install a new nut (PN: 2081194-99-A) that attaches the front of the LH cantrail assembly to the vehicle.
    4 Nm (2.9 lbs-ft)

  11. Install the LH underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - LH (Remove and Install).
