SuperManifold - LCCR Filter (Remove and Replace)

Cybertruck electronics are powered by a 48V "mid voltage" or "MV" architecture that is designed to improve efficiency. Servicing MV components requires extra knowledge and care in order to avoid personal and/or vehicular harm. Read and understand MV precautions in Electrical Precautions and make sure any required MV-related training courses have been completed, as applicable.
  1. Open LH front door

  2. Lower LH front window
  3. Raise and support vehicle

    Set air suspension to "Jack Mode"
  4. Place vehicle in service mode

    Via UI > Controls > Software, Touch and hold "Cybertruck" for 2 seconds then release, Use screen keyboard to type "service" into dialog box then select OK
  5. Unlock vehicle gateway

    After vehicle has been put into "Service Mode", place keycard on center console to turn on drive rails, hold down the brake pedal, while keep pressing right hand signal button simultaneously for at least 10 seconds, "GTW UNLOCKING" should pop up on the UI right next to the VIN during these 10 seconds, once gateway is unlocked "GTW UNLOCKED 5400" will be displayed on the UI next to the VIN, the gateway will remain unlocked for 90 minutes, follow steps on Toolbox article #5582900 for any additional information
  6. Navigate to Refrigerant System through UI

  7. Select "Start Thermal Fill Drain (Coolant and Refrigerant)" through UI

  8. Power down vehicle via UI

    Verify EPBs are engaged, Select charge port icon to ensure drive state is disengaged then power down vehicle via Controls > Safety > Power Off
  9. Open powered front trunk

  10. Remove rear underhood apron

  11. Unlock fireman's loop connector and disconnect, Slide eCPA to left on the MV battery connector then lift lever to release

    2x connectors, Unlock fireman's loop connector and disconnect, Release eCPA by pushing down to unlock and slide red locking tab to left, Wait 2 minutes for electrical circuits to discharge before disconnecting modules
  12. Remove frunk assembly

    6x bolts, 10mm, 12 Nm, 2x bolt caps, 2x bumpstops, 1x connector, Install bolt covers to frunk floor, Install washer fluid cap, Install bumpstops by aligning tabs then turning clockwise, Ensure emergency frunk release functions
  13. Remove caps from low side and high side AC ports

  14. Connect A/C hoses to ports

    Pull back frunk wall if installed to access low side port
  15. Perform AC recovery

    Touch time only: Note the amount of refrigerant and oil recovered, Refrigerant Type > Manual Menu > Recovery/Recycle > Verify hose connections, Machine will chime once process is complete, Vehicle may be left unattended, Note or print the amount of refrigerant and oil recovered, Refrigerant recovered should be ~2.24 lb (1.02 kg), Oil recovered should be ~0.3 oz (8.87 mL), If drained oil level increased more than 1.01 oz (30 mL) refer to drained oil loss chart Toolbox article 353700
  16. Raise vehicle fully

    Set to a comfortable working height, Lower to locks, Ensure locks engage on both sides to prevent tilting
  17. Remove front aero shield

  18. Place coolant catcher below RH front of vehicle
  19. Lower vehicle until tires are touching the ground

    Raise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered
  20. Disconnect the powertrain bypass hose, radiator outlet hose, radiator inlet hose from the Supermanifold

    3x spring clips, This will drain the coolant reservoir
  21. Remove supermanifold controller

    2x connectors, 1x harness clip, 3x bolts, 8mm, 4 Nm, Release locking features
  22. Release supermanifold harness bracket and valve coils

    4x connectors, 3x bolts, 8mm, 8 Nm, Remove bolts then release four connectors indicated in image, Pull bracket away ensuring all valve coils remain with bracket excluding one valve coil closest to dessicant plug, Pivot harness bracket and coils to side, Ensure coil seals remain on valve cores

  24. Remove LCCR assembly

    4x nuts, 8mm, 7 Nm, Be extremely cautious to avoid coolant from upper ports entering lower refrigerant ports of supermanifold or LCCR assembly, If any coils remained on supermanifold then remove as required for fastener access
  25. Remove LCCR filter

    Pull upward to release, LCCR filter is black, Ensure only black filter is present
  26. Install LCCR filter

    Push inward until upper lip is flush, LCCR filter is black, Ensure only black filter is installed
  27. Install LCCR assembly

    4x nuts, 8mm, 7 Nm, Reinstall coil(s) if any removed, Lubricate LCCR refrigerant o-rings with RB100EV POE oil
  28. Reconnect AC hoses to vehicle
  29. Perform AC vacuum and run leak test

  30. Remove low side AC hose from supermanifold to HVAC AC line assembly
  31. Use oil injector to add measured amount of oil back to the system

    Use calculated oil loss measurement and add new RB100EV oil into the system, If more than 30 mL drained out during recovery refer to drained oil loss chart: Toolbox article 353700
  32. Install low side AC hose to supermanifold to HVAC AC line assembly
  33. Perform AC charge

    Touch time: Enter refrigerant amount noted at AC recovery, Settings should match notes, Select Both Sides for charge, Machine will chime once process is complete
  34. Install supermanifold harness bracket and coils

    4x connectors, 3x bolts, 8mm, 8 Nm, Position supermanifold harness bracket and coils onto valve cores, Rotate coils as required for alignment, Ensure coil seals are all in place, Engage locking tabs
  35. Install supermanifold controller

  36. Secure powertrain bypass hose, radiator outlet hose, and radiator inlet hose to Supermanifold

    3x spring clips, Ensure all hoses are fully engaged with a push-pull-push test
  37. Perform cooling system vacuum refill. See Cooling System (Vacuum Refill).
  38. Raise vehicle fully

  39. Install front aero shield

    11x bolts, 10mm, 6 Nm, Apply loctite 222 to aeroshield fasteners
  40. Lower vehicle until tires are touching the ground

    Raise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered
  41. Slide eCPA to the right and ensure it is seated against the black lever, Connect fireman's loop 20 seconds after eCPA engagement

    2x connectors, Slide and secure red locking tab on top of release lever, Lock fireman's loop connection, If power cycling vehicle ensure at least 60 seconds has passed since powering down

  46. Proceed with Hose Equalize steps to complete AC recharge process and follow instructions displayed on AC Machine

    Disconnect high side coupler from vehicle, Turn AC on, Temp setting LO, Panel mode on, Fresh air mode on, Blower speed set to 10, Verify Hose Equalize settings, Verify discharge pressure does not exceed 26 bar and suction pressure is not below 1.15 bar,
