Tonneau Applique (Remove and Install)

Remove

  1. Open the tailgate.
  2. Open the tonneau cover.
  3. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the tonneau applique to the body, and then firmly pull upward from the rear edge of applique to release the rear of applique. Press the locking tab on the forward mounting points to release the roof applique.
    9 Nm (6.6 lbs-ft)

    CAUTION
    Be extremely careful not to strip the bolts during removal/install.

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T30 socket

Install

  1. Position the tonneau applique over the mounting points, apply downward pressure to engage the front and rear attachment points, and then install the bolts (x2) that attach the tonneau applique to the body.
    9 Nm (6.6 lbs-ft)

    CAUTION
    Make sure the seal is not caught outboard of the applique. Use a trim tool to adjust the seal position, as needed.

    Note
  2. Measure the gap between tonneau slats to tonneau applique.

    Measure at three points across tonneau applique.

    Make sure the gap is 1.5mm to 2.0mm.
  3. If gap measurements are out of specificition, remove the tonneau applique and adjust the snap clips (x2), as necessary.

    If gap is over 2.0mm, rotate the bolts clockwise to close the gap. If the gap is under 1.5mm, rotate the bolts counter-clockwise to open the gap.
  4. Close the tonneau cover.
  5. Close the tailgate.
