Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Move the LH front seat fully forward.
  3. Use a flathead screwdriver to rotate the lock mechanism on the front seat belt linkage counterclockwise to release it from the pretensioner, and then slide the linkage off the pretensioner and set it aside.

    DO NOT rotate clockwise to avoid damage to the mechanism.

    The lock screw will remain in the horizontal position when released.

  4. Adjust the steering column fully forward and fully up in height level.

    On the vehicle touchscreen, touch Controls > Steering, and then use the left steering wheel scroll wheel to adjust the steering column.
  5. Remove the 1st row LH outboard side shield. See Front Seat Covers and Pads - 1R LH Outboard Cybershield Fab (Remove and Install).
  6. Remove the LH 1st row seat tilt motor.

Install

  1. Install the LH 1st row seat tilt motor.

    x3 bolts, 8 mm, 8 Nm; x1 bolt, T45, 16 Nm
  2. Install the 1st row LH outboard side shield. See Front Seat Covers and Pads - 1R LH Outboard Cybershield Fab (Remove and Install).
  3. Restore the steering column back to its original position.

    On the vehicle touchscreen, touch Controls > Steering, and then use the left steering wheel scroll wheel to adjust the steering column.
  4. Install the front seat belt linkage to the pretensioner:
    1. Make sure the lock screw is in the horizontal position. If the lock screw is not in the horizontal position, follow the release instructions to unlock it.
    2. Verify there are no twists in the seat belt from the upper B-pillar trim to the pretensioner.
    3. Install the linkage onto the pretensioner cable.

      The lock screw will rotate back to the locked position.
    4. Perform a firm pull test on the seat belt with at least 15 pounds of force.
  5. Calibrate the LH front seat using the vehicle touchscreen.

    Note
    Touch Controls > Service > Drivers Seat, Steering & Mirrors Calibration > Start. Follow the on screen instructions. Allow the process to complete.
  6. Restore the LH front seat back to its original position.
  7. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
