Remove
- Remove the rear fascia assembly. See Rear Bumper Fascia - Rear Fascia (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH rear center step bracket. See Rear Bumper Fascia - Fascia Step Bracket Center - LH (Remove and Install).
- Remove the LH rear body side bracket. See Rear Bumper Fascia - Body Side Bracket - LH (Remove and Install).
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the RH side of the vehicle.
- Remove the center bracket. Rear Energry Absorber - Center Bracket (Remove and Install).
- Remove the trailer ECU. See Body Controllers - Trailer ECU (Remove and Install).

Disconnect the trailer connector
socket electrical connector.

Release the clips and tabs that attach
the trailer connector socket and harness to the vehicle.
NoteDepress the tabs to release the connector socket.

Remove the bolts (x4) that attach the
diffuser brackets to the tow hitch.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm socket

With assistance, remove the bolts
(x12) that attach the tow hitch assembly to the vehicle, and then remove the assembly
from the vehicle.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm socket
- 15 mm socket
- 18 mm socket

Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the
LH cast bumper assembly to the vehicle, and then remove the assembly from the
vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 18 mm socket
Install
-
Position the LH cast bumper assembly
into the vehicle, and then install the bolts (x2) that attach the assembly to the
vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 18 mm socket

With assistance, position the tow
hitch assembly onto the vehicle, and then install the bolts (x12) that attach the
assembly to the vehicle.NoteTorque the 13 mm bolts (x2) to 16 Nm, 15 mm bolts (x4) to 44 Nm, and 18 mm bolts (x6) to 178 Nm.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm socket
- 15 mm socket
- 18 mm socket

Install the bolts (x4) that attach the
diffuser brackets to the tow hitch.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm socket

Secure the clips and tabs that attach
the trailer connector socket and harness to the vehicle.
NotePush inward to secure the connector socket.

Connect the trailer connector socket
electrical connector.
- Install the trailer ECU. See Body Controllers - Trailer ECU (Remove and Install).
- Install the center bracket. Rear Energry Absorber - Center Bracket (Remove and Install).
- Install the RH rear body side bracket. See Rear Bumper Fascia - Body Side Bracket - LH (Remove and Install).
- Install the RH rear center step bracket. See Rear Bumper Fascia - Fascia Step Bracket Center - LH (Remove and Install).
- Repeat steps 8 and 9 for the LH side of the vehicle.
- Install the rear fascia assembly. See Rear Bumper Fascia - Rear Fascia (Remove and Install).
